Re: 2024-25 NBA Rookie Discussion Thread
Rookie class is bad, but many players will get a mins and usage role second half of season. Couple of second rounders would become valuable pieces for good teams like Tyler Kolek, Pelle Larsson, Filipowski.

Re: 2024-25 NBA Rookie Discussion Thread
This draft was mostly 3rd option, role player, versatile player types. Not every draft will have #1 scoring options and all stars. Nothing wrong with that when building a roster. There is only one ball. Adjust your expectations.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

If careers were only based on a player's rookie year (first two weeks, no less), where would Tyreke Evans rank all-time?!

Pretty sure this was the consensus a year before the draft.
We haven't seen much to challenge that assertion over the last few months.

As a pistons fan who watched us fall all the way to #5, this thread makes me feel a little better.

Somewhat similarly, if Rob Dillingham enters Minnesota's rotation, I believe it won't take long for him to enter the ROY discussion.

They'll probably waste his career high too.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

lots of fraudulent draft "experts" will be exposed per usual with their 2024 draft takes and I'm here for it. It's laughable how people regurgitate these talking heads despite them being wrong most of the time. I thought I was taking crazy pills seeing all their negativity towards this class all year. I'm not surprised in the slightest that they're digging in their heels and writing articles like this a week into the season. Just don't expect them to admit they were wrong later on though because they almost never do. They'll move the goalposts or ignore this class completely as they move on to talking about 2025.
Already 14 rookies have started a game (27 rookies started a game in 2023) and we're only a week into the season. Guys are slowly but surely carving out roles and as the tanking really begins in earnest many will be getting more minutes and then we'll see production creep up. This class is already comparable to most draft classes that came before it outside of it lacking the elite 1-2 guys most classes have at the top.

Jaylen Wells is a sniper. Won’t ever be an all star but a very useful player and exactly what the grizzlies needed, catch and shoot 3s and perimeter defense

Risacher looks nice. Height/length, nice handle, coordination, jumper, touch, explosiveness. What's not to like? Hawks added to my watch sched.

Him and Jalen are going to be a really nice duo at Forward for a long long time imo. Then you got Daniels at SG being a elite level defensive menace. Im really happy with the group they are putting around Trae. This is exactly the type of players we have begged to get around him for him to be at his best. The only thing missing is a good defensive stretch 5. AD would be the perfect type of 5 but don't know if we have the ammo to get him lol. We got the Lakers pick this year which is really nice if they want a chance at Flagg. + Sacs 1st this year and a few more down the road we could move maybe. Could add some young guys like Kobe Bufkin, Hunter, Onyeka etc...
