I guess he's been practicing with the team and the new bench mob all look like they belong. :o

Bench mob so good they'e rdestroying the tWo. Jakobe is a shot taker, and needs to prove he's a shot maker to be valuable in the league. I really look forward to seeing his play and how often he creates contact/is drawing fouls. Definitely something to look for in games with this guy. I think it's a large part of why he went in the first round, He could be exceptional at it.

Walter hasn't got the chance to get up a lot of shots. He hasn't been great. The hidden creation skills aren't showing, they'll likely need to be gradually coaxed out of him in the GLeague.

Missi would have the been the safer choice. We have a clear need for a defensive C and he would have been an easy add on behind Poeltl or next to Olynyk.

Walter was still the BPA, I would consider him his draft's Knecht. I hope we can see more from him, he should be a better version of Agbaji in a few years.

Gradey, Agbaji, and Walter is an interesting stable of wings. Walter has the highest potential, Gradey has the highest chance of being the best player, and Agbaji is the best all around in defense, offense, and being a role player.

There's internal competition between them. Barrett has his starting role locked. The best player to put next to him on paper would probably be Walter because he projects to be a 2 way shooter.

How so when Walter and Knecht were in the same draft? I will hold off judging JKW too early (look how that turned out for Gradey). I hope he does turn out to be the best player between him, Ochai, and Gradey. That would be great for us as the other two have improved significantly this year. I have seen some good from JWK. Mainly just seems nervous out there. Even shooting the ball he doesn't seem comfortable to pull the trigger. I'd like to see him get a ton of play time in the g-league this year. Maybe play here and there with big club but mainly G-league.

I'd put Gradeys ceiling as clearly above Walter at this point.

I agree. At this point and time, I don't know how you could put JKW's ceiling above Gradey. We should all be overjoyed if Gradey keeps balling like this and JKW becomes the better player long term.

13th pick in a good draft vs 19th in a horrible one makes that fairly clear.

JKW has shown some creation though. Shots haven’t fallen but he gets to spots
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Yup, super pleased by what I've seen of JKW.

I just love that all these guys we got our moving the ball, making the right cuts, being unselfish etc. Seems like we're prioritizing smart players

I haven't really seen much out of Walter, but to be fair he missed pre-season and the beginning of the season with an injury so it must be hard to catch up now. I'm hoping he goes down to the 905 and gets some minutes there.

I think a lot of the credit for that should be given to Darko and the rest of the coaching staff, building out unselfish habits and prioritizing team ball is a hard thing to do, and it looks like everyone is just getting along, hyped for one another, passing selflessly.

As cheesy and cliché as it sounds, it really does seem like the vibes are back, Darko has been great for a culture reset and I'm loving what i'm seeing.

It's like the previous game vs Charlotte, Battle went 0 for 2 and then didn't play vs LAL and Walter got 21 mins. Battle was hitting last night 3 for 6 from 3 and had 3 assists with zero turnovers. I think he's trying to develop both at the same time. Bruce Brown may only play a few games to show that he's healthy for a trade.

I think it's important to develop both of them. Especially because we lack size at the 3. Battle is a knockdown shooter & he is the longest out of our 2/3's. From what I remember, he has a 2" longer standing reach than our next longest wing (RJ & JKW). Battle is also a LOT quicker than I ever thought he would be. I think he had potential to be a decent 2 way player.

Yeah I've got no issues with developing them in tandem, but I'd lean much harder into developing a 20 year old 19th pick vs a 23+ year old undrafted player.

With all the injuries that might not be a concern, but with the way Gradey and RJ have been lighting things up, those minutes are drying up faster than I'm sure any of us expected.

Walter is a much better defender than Dick right now.

I hope Walter's offensive game improves by the end of the season, and over the coming summer. I'd love to see him improve like Gradey and Ochai did.

I'm glad he's pesky, that's a skill and he's going to need that. His ability to get downhill is cool too, we need that as a team. I like him.

A some of his fouls are ticky tack, or he's being grabbed, and then called for the foul.

I was never counting on JKW contributing this year...same with Shead, Mogbo Chomche or Battle. So this has all been nice to see that they have been serviceable/not overwhelmed with all the injuries.

Getting all these guys 905 time and reps together will be good for development once guys get healthy.

Yeah, Walter and Chomche are the 2 guys I want to see get a ton of minutes on the 905. It will be interesting to see where each of them are at by seasons end.

I think Shead, Battle & Mogbo all can play in the NBA right now & help the team in some way. Mogbo & Shead need to work on their shooting. Battle just needs more seasoning overall. I am sure all 3 will get aome 905 games in when it is convenient to do so.

Would be cool to try to win the GLeague ship this year. Might be a good way to motivite the rooks to want to play down there.

Where's the love for this kid?
First start and put up a good showing

14 on 6/14
11 boards
5 assists
2 steals

super active on both ends. He has the laterals to defend and his long wingspan will help him get steals

let's see some more PT from him and string some good games together

If he just made his shots it would have been a perfect start. He seems to hunt the shots down well but he is missing like in college. They need to run Gradey type sets for him so he is more catch and shoot.

The great stuff that makes me believe. He fights through screens and has length to contest, he boards like a mad man and he dives on the floor for possessions.

If he defends better than Gradey he should play over him. Gradey is shooting under 35% and was trending down after a hot run.
