Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
Vikings and Packers are better and more likely to get the wildcard, but if the Packers fade bc of injuries, we're next in line and nobody else is particularly close. Maybe the bucs if they turn it around (on a 3-game skid), and maybe the Rams/Niners but they're both 4-4 and imo have too much ground to make up.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I'm glad they got Marshon. As long as it's only a third round pick and the "additional compensation" isn't significant. This gives them a real chance this year and for the next few years to go for it while JD5 is on his rookie deal.

That's a lot of comp, IMO. Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze considering how good Peters is with the draft.
edit: Looks like #93, #131, and #206 for Lattimore (equal to the #89 pick overall in draft charts) and #144.

It wasn't a cheap price because of other competition.
New Orleans gets:
-Washington 3rd-round pick
-Washington 4th
-Its 6th back from the John Ridgeway trade
Washington gets:
-Marshon Lattimore
-Saints’ 5th-round pick

Our biggest need was a number 1 corner.
Remember that we still have Miami's 3rd rounder.

Oh man incredible move. Lattimore can shut down his side of the field. Just stay healthy.

It's just a hamstring, not an ACL ffs. Also we got a pick back in the deal.

 It's basically Dotson and a little extra for a SHUT DOWN corner. This absolutely makes us a contender which is wild to say so early on, but told y'all Jayden was going to be HIM. This team along with the cap space over the next few years..look out.

Keep in mind we still have Miami's 3rd round pick which will probably be in the top half of the 3rd round.

We won’t be facing Dak in a few weeks so expect that to be a W. I expect a split with the Eagles. We’ve played them very tough over the last couple of years even with a terrible team. You have a shot in any game with a franchise QB like Jayden.
Steelers game will be tricky but I expect Russ to fall back to earth a little. Beat the Titans and Saints. Split Eagles, split Cowboys at worst. That puts us at 11 wins. And could see us beating the Falcons. 12 -13 wins boom.
And I think the Bucs take the last wildcard and keep the Packers out of the playoffs. The Bucs schedule after the Niners game is EASY.

Re: The Washington Commanders Thread
We need a better CB and fishing for one through the draft is like playing a carnival game. I'm happy this frees up our higher position picks for other positions. Chances are without a trade we would have drafted a CB high and the chances of that player being mediocre would be high even with AP doing the picking.

Not like it mattered in the end, but I really don't understand why you'd take that chance with the game still within reach.
The math says go for 2 in that situation and most coaches are following the math (the Cowboys also went for 2 against the Falcons in the same situation yesterday). Basically you are more likely to have a higher expected value by going for two twice then kicking an extra point theoretically.
Of course, the Giants may want to double check their math given their poor two point conversions throughout the session but I am guessing they also are playing with more risk for where they are in the NFL standings.

Extra points are not at 100% though especially since they moved back the disatance. If extra points are at 95.2%, teams only need to conver 47.6% of the time.
The 2 point conversion rate since 2015 is at 47.5%
This season, the 2 point conversion rate is only at 31% (as of last week).

Yup. As of right now, the Dolphins pick is in the top 1/3 of the draft and and the Washington 3rd rounder is at the back end of the draft so it was a good deal from that standpoint.
And the 4th round and 5th round pick swap may only have a 10 pick total difference (as of now it has a 3 pick difference)
Essentially the trade has amounted to-
Dotson
Washington 3rd rounder
Dolphins 3rd rounder
Lattimore
