Still like everyone is saying... Heat aren't going to do it.
It's not a question of who is better, and I don't even think it's a matter of the Heat pulling the trigger - there just isnt a team that's going to offer that kind of package. NY paid an extra tax to acquire Bridges because it was intra-conference (city) and they already had a build in place. I'm scanning both conferences now and I can't find the single team that says Bam is the final piece to my build let me offer 4-5 firsts and a young player.

another issue might be teams he would help (i.e. Clippers or Suns) don't have the draft capital available because they've already used it.
I like Bam though. I just wish he was more aggressive.

I listened to most of the podcast yesterday at the gym. I'm not sure I'm buying all of what D Wade is selling. He said multiple teams were set up to add to max guys. You had the Knicks, Bulls, and the Heat. Wade said he didn't realize the Heat were the only team set up to sign three guys until Lebron and his guys called him.
I find it hard to believe going in to free agency Riley and Heat didn't lay it out for Wade that they were the only team that had the ability to sign three guys. Regardless whether those three were Wade, Lebron, Bosh, Carmelo, Stoudemire, or Boozer... Heat had been planning for 2-3 years to clear that cap space. It was a huge free agent class.
It was a great listen though. Another cool story Wade told is that Lebron asked him about Riley coming back to coach and Wade said something like no way... you don't want Riles. We're good with Spo.

Ya, I don't believe anything Wade or any athlete say years after the fact. A bit of revisionist going on there. I'm sure Wade thought about other scenarios before heading into that free agency, but he never seriously considered anything. We'd at least have heard some rumors.
The fact is LeBron first tried to recruit Bosh to Cleveland and Bosh was not going there 100% and he was in our bag already. With or without LeBron Riley would've signed (and did agree to deals with the two) Bosh and Wade and go from there.
LeBron really had no move once Bosh was committed to Miami. If anything, we should appreciate Bosh more for that era. Who knows if Bosh decided to not come here n go to New York or some other place. Even Wade could've moved on at that point. So, Bosh, thank you and thank you for that one crucial rebound and not passing back to LeBron, lol

Well Bosh has said the first decision was to join Wade in Chicago, he was sold on the Bulls pitch to play with Rose, Wade, Deng, Bosh and Noah. Bosh verbally committed to Chicago until he was talked into going to Miami by Riley and Wade. That is the same reason Wade almost chose to go home to Chicago because of the same Bulls pitch. However, Wade and Bosh chose Miami because they had faith Riley to build a team. There was a question mark about Lebron, Miami was going to sign Joe Johnson if Lebron didnt show interest.
I can tell you this (same reason I knew Johnson was coming to Miami if boughtout), Miami already knew Bosh and Joe Johnson wanted to come to Miami. Its one of the reason they didnt want to overpay for Amare Stoudemire in a trade, because they knew about Bosh's interest. Heat had a deal in place to trade for Stoudemire that would of sent Beasley to Pheonix then would of targeted Johnson over the summer. This was the exact same scenerio when Heat were negotiating a trade for Lowry, they knew they could get Oladipo.
Miller was the backup plan if they missed out on Johnson. When Lebron showed the Heat that Miami was a real consideration, that is when Pat and the big three negotiated the 5th year on their contracts. Pat told them if you forcing the 5th year which would only could be done in a sign and trade, the big three was crippling Pat ability to build. That is when Miller and Haslem was negotiated into making the contracts fit if the Heat had to trade for Bosh and Lebron and give them that 5th year.
