And yet if they'd drafted smarter not harder, they'd have Haliburton instead of Pat and may have retained Lauri because of it.

SGA instead of Wendell, Bam instead of Lauri. Tanking for picks means nothing if you don't make the most of those picks. We're basically just the late 2000's/early 10's Timberwolves and Kings.

The mistake was made to start the 4th. Every team finds it difficult to get up for a horrible team missing it's leading scorer. That's a given. But the momentum was shifting at the end of the 3rd and it looked like we were about to take control of the game and coast to a win. Donovan begins the 4th with giddy coby vuc and ayo on the bench. That was the game right there. Jazz reeled off 7 straight pts and were desperate for their first win of the season. We opened the window for them to believe they could win that game at the start of the 4th.

As far as this tank or not to tank nonsense that is once again plaguing this page I don't know what it's going to take for fans to realize losing don't mean nothing in the draft anymore but all you have to do is look up the teams that got the most losses and tell me when they got a 1st pick. This needs to stop. Atlanta got in the play in beat us then got the 1st pick. Just let these guys play and where the chips land they land. But rooting for losses is literally a waste of time. This not the 2010s no more silver shut all that down.

I was able to catch this game at the UC. A few observations:

We have a small team. Lack of size is really apparent is person. Literally no one on the roster can guard PFs besides PWill. Just horrible roster construction by AKME.

Giddey has a nice feel for the game but his defense is laughably bad and his lack of athleticism is apparent when attacking the rim. Got blocked a couple times on what seemed like easy buckets.

Ayo looked great. Most consistent player on both sides of the ball.

Coby is really streaky on offense, probably forced a couple shots he shouldn’t have. But we really had no other offensive options. Thought he fought over screens well.

Vuc just is what he is. Was ok on offense though missed some bunnies. Zero rim protection.

The bench was unmemorable. Terry looked ok in spurts but his shot is still broken. Phillips missed some open shots and got abused by Collins. Matas looked lost on D. THT looks like a guy you’d find at the gym on Saturday.

Jazz just seemed like the better, more athletic, and more focused team for most of the game, which was disappointing given their lack of talent.

Overall, seems clear this Bulls team can’t guard anyone, which isn’t surprising. And offense is pretty ugly too without Zach and Zo.

In fairness, without LaVine, the Bulls were likely younger than the also young Jazz team. Vuc and a bunch of 20 to 24 year olds.
