Maybe I got it wrong about the Double Bigs.. Memphis blew out the LAL starting 3 Bigs..

Queta Kornet and Al ??

just trying to feel better. and LAL losing does help.

The Suns swept the regular season series against the Wolves (all those wins by double digits) last season before getting swept by those same Wolves in the first round (three of those wins by double digits). You are tripping if you think that losing a regular season match up has any predictive value for a playoff series.

Nope. If it's the playoffs, I'd find it embarrassing. Look at the guys we played. Queta, Walsh, Kornet, and a retirement-age Horford aren't world beaters by themselves. Warriors still have a top 10 player all-time even at his age.

We really need brown back. Lakers haven’t won jack in awhile now. Only golden state. A couple of years ago. I see the lakers as being really done .

Yes and he’s 36 years old. We should be having no problems with that team. Just seems like a bad matchup. Horrible execution etc.

Need more from Holiday offensively on nights like this. Thought he'd be featured more after a full offseason and training camp with him. He's mostly a catch-and-shoot player with occasional postups. Horford was just out of it. Hurt us more than helped. Dunno what's up with Tillman that Joe didn't even try him.

White did all he could as the #2. Tatum had a great Q scoring-wise but Warriors did a good job taking the ball out of his hands otherwise. Queta was fantastic and should play more games moving forward, might have supplanted both K and X now. Totally fine with Walsh playing 10 minutes here and there esp with key guys missing. PP was bothered by the length of Dubs D but was still able to score enough, though not his usual efficient self. Get Hauser more looks. Not a Springer game. We needed offense more than D tonight. It takes a whole team being coordinated to defend Curry anyway.

They needed Brown against the Warriors.

Still, a fine performance by Queta, but diminished by some awfulness of Al and Holiday was nigh useless and shaky.

More minutes for Hauser, back to Portland for Walsh, and go with a
Queta - Tatum - Hauser - White - Holiday starting unit. I might also switch out
Holiday for PP, if Jrue continues to offer diminished returns.

A 36 year old curry.

Classic curry though, only ever rises to the occasion when it doesnt really count (yeah, im still not a happy camper after the 2016 finals)

He should at least rest him more in the regular season. Not yet worried about Al. He's stepped up for us every postseason while mostly coasting in RS. TBD if he's really done.

Rebounds were frustrating. Loonie killed us.

Also lots of miscommunication on defense. Would love to face them in the Finals to settle this one and for all, but I doubt Warriors are going to make it.

Every loss will help us get better
3 missed rebounds and 3 missed assignment on defense (leaving Curry alone on the 3, then a layup, then an open 3 by Hield) cost us the game

I hope we learn to play faster, as we started to push the ball we got easier looks
I hope JT will learn to play down low when guarded by smaller defenders
I hope Joe will have an answer to the trap and to a fast pace team (IND included)

BTW, where was Tillman? Is he that bad that we need to endure lapses from our other bigs?

We don't want to be the 2022 Suns, 2016 Warriors, 2009 Celtics, 2008 Patriots, and 2007 Mavs.

All those teams had a close to perfect regular season, only to fail in the postseason.

Be at your best in May and June.

That's the ideal.

I really enjoyed this game even though the Cs lost. Last year I wanted the team to aim to perfection so such a loss would have got me frustrated. But it's just a mistake in life imo to think you can be perfect. You should try to improve of course, but you just can't be perfect.

So I enjoyed the intensity, Warriors system on both ends, Tatum getting challenged, Queta's improvements and the learning experience. I don't mind the loss so much because we know of the deep potential of this team so such a loss in November is sort of good. For good or bad, it looks as we won't be challenged very much at the top of the east standings...

Mazzulla and Tatum can learn a lesson from this game. The Cs big advantage is team construction and overall talent. Let's not forget, we have a super team. But I think Mazzula got outcoached tonight. One could argue we were out-talented too, I'm not sure.

What it is clear is this team plus Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis is a whole 'nother beast. These two are great in ISO and that's our plus. But our core, the Celtics system, I believe is the White - Tatum - Horford trifecta. Tatum's our system, our main go-to guy and so he should be; White's our main ball handler, most active player and main tandem for Tatum P&R; Horford's the backbone of our defense, floor spacer and great at switching. He's still so, so important for this team even if a big part of this is KP being out half of the time. And of course, the coaching staff as brains and guardians of the whole thing.

Well I think our system still can get better. And I'm mainly looking at Mazzulla and Tatum (Brown of course being a case of his own...). Tatum was uncomforable and frustraded with physicality and trapping in the first half. Himself and the team as a whole stepped up in the 3rd quarter though they lost in the 4th. I think they can still work on what to do when the 3s don't fall and when teams get physical with us. Add some variants maybe. Has to be possible, right?

I watch games half asleep first thing in the morning, so I won't pretend to know all technicalities but I think there's room for improvement. The fact that we won the title last year isn't a guarantee of anything so I think these things will be worth looking at long term.
