Well said. I'm not sure if it's recency bias or what, but multiple people have acted that way in losses this year. Someone (usually Ivey or Cade this season) has a bad 4th quarter and people put the loss on them, thinking games are 12 minutes long and not 48. Cade could put up 60 points in the first half, but if he has 5 turnovers in crunch time and the Pistons lose by 1, well then the loss is "on him". Cade doesn't deserve a free pass for a poor second half, but putting the loss on the guy who scored like 14 of the team's first 16 points and had a triple double is unfair.

Clutch and Harris are not friends. Tobias has disappeared in the 4th quarters all his career long.

This is Cade in a nutshell. He's a strong 1st half player then fades as the game wears on and usually disappears in the 4th. At some point we probably just need to accept that he is what he is. A good player but not a guy you want leading your franchise.

With that said, there were some positives to take from the game. Holland playing well in crunch time and even hitting a few 3's and Reed who hasn't gotten minutes for some reason is a nice rotational player who should see minutes going forward.

Right! Bro made 3 out of his last 27 attempts from 3. He does some good things, like running the floor to get easy buckets and making timely smart plays… but him being ice cold from 3 may have lost us this game, the Heat game, and the Celtics game. Cade ball doesn’t work if the defense doesn’t have to worry about the guy in the corner making a 3

Yeah, I think some Cade is getting some heat for problems related to our roster makeup. Seems like Cade has a stamina issue that compounds into a turnover issue, especially when no one else on the floor can take matters into their own hands on offense. I personally think we need talent that can score in diverse ways from the 3/4 position on our roster. Tobias Harris is the guy we brought in to do that but he’s not a threat from the outside right now. We hope Ausar or Holland can develop into that. Right now, too many guys have to get spoon fed buckets from Cade and Jaden. This team will look like last year’s team the moment one of them misses a game

Cade was completely lackadaisical after the first quarter. He was just jogging around. He wasn't necessarily making bad plays, but he wasn't playing with enough pace to really put any pressure on the defense. Even just coming to the ball off hand offs etc, he wasn't doing it with any sort of purpose. It's great that he was racking up assists instead of turning it over, but he completely let the defense off the hook for 3 quarters.

Cade was solid for us in this one. I think overall the expectations for him have risen. 10 assists, 10 rebounds and just 2 TOs is great statistically... if he would have made one of his four threes we win the game.

They started really collapsing on him when he came back in after his first break they even did a few video breakdowns where essentially three Hornets surrounded him on a few of his drives.

That said, yes having the right level of defensive intensity throughout the game is important.... but when you also grab 10 rebounds and dish out 10 assists and handle the ball on offense a ton you can't really put in the same level of defensive intensity for 38 minutes as someone who mostly stands in the corner on offense. It's rare for a player to bring it 99% of the time on defense and do so much on offense. That said, he still needs to be better than what he was but I'm not going to blame him for the L on this one.
