We don't have a 2025 1st to trade, but we do have the Clippers 2nd, which is projected to be in the 30s, so it's a good 2nd round pick. Maybe Lakers would include that.

KCP is 31, not 41. and its only a 3 year deal. ORlando doesnt need more 2nds
Fair enough. What are the goals for Orlando right now? Are the Magic trying to win still, or tank?

Finals this year, win it all next year.

For some reason the Magic start off with a ton of road games and home games sandwiched in between road games. The record by the time Paolo might be good to go could be bottom 4 in the East. Why rush Paolo back at that point? I could see the Magic fire off KCP and some other parts to aspiring finals teams for picks, in theory. Doubt it would happen.

Yeah. This whole thread is at best premature.

If December 15 arrives and Paolo's injury looks worse than expected/Orlando is out of the playoff hunt then maybe they consider moving KCP for cap space and assets. But that's still a ways off.

It was a dumb acquisition for ORL. KCP is a VERY solid role player who, at best, replicates what Suggs and Gary Harris bring, admittedly, with valuable veteran championship experience. He hasn't been hitting his "sure-thing" 3's (yet) which makes him look pretty unattractive at $22m per, but I believe that will come around...on the other hand, we must also be concerned that Jokic can really make single-tool offensive players look really effective with his gravity. Hoping Paolo has the same effect, but...

Hate to even ponder it, but moving Suggs would be a LOT more enticing to another team and KCP, in theory, can do much of what Suggs does. I don't know how many contenders leap at giving up anything of value for a $22m 3&D guy...ORL shouldn't be looking for picks and cap space at this point-that would be a step backward....maybe an "ring now or nothing" GSW or LAL, but I don't know what comes back.

I love Podz and Moody for ORL, but don't see GSW agreeing.

We definitely wouldn't offer Podz for KCP (and probably not for Suggs either tbh). He was supposedly the hold up in the Lauri deal.

Moody for KCP maybe, but to make the deal legal it would have to be Moody plus some other guys and that probably pushes it into no territory.

GS should offer Podz for Suggs, but probably wouldn't. KCP's salary is high enough to be an issue. Either Wiggins is in the deal or it's a several for one deal.

Trading KCP so soon after he left a championship team and signed a contract with them would pretty much guarantee no other free agent going there. You just don't really do that kind of thing.

Plus, have you seen the East? The Magic just need to make sure they don't end up 10 games under .500 and they'll be fine.
