Yeah it’s going to be a huge weight lifted for both sides. The moment we said we weren’t extending and that Butler had to earn it with playing more the writing was put on the wall. Even if Butler plays all world we still aren’t extending him and Butler knows it. Riley is trying to squeeze out one more year but it’s backfiring.

Last night I have no complaints about how the team performed in general. The complaint is Butler and Bam. They both looked like garbage and the team still had a chance to win. Its getting close to a 10 game sample span and we only seen one good game from Bam and Butler.

I think Rozier can come off the bench and be an effective bench scorer, And Jovic could play more freely from the Bench too.

I really like the added size and defense the first starting five brings, and it puts the focus on Herro, Bam and Jimmy to carry the offensive load - which is what they should be doing.

Bad shooting night, it happens. He was probably shocked to get the ball He was great everywhere else and he didn’t give up a 15 point lead in a 3 minute span to end the 3rd.

True, but putting more size and toughness around them might help them conserve energy and preform better on offense.

I don't know WTF is wrong with Bam, but playing him next to a Huge C in ware might take some pressure off him and wake him up. He's been very disappointing, let's try a different approach.

Spo finally demoted Jovic for the better fitting 3 and D with a sprinkle of floater Highsmith, now I think it may be time to do the same with Terry. Make him 6th man like his Boston days and let him run the 2nd unit.

Him and Herro as a back court was never going to work so it was always going to be up to one of them to outshine the other, Herro has finally bought into his Klay Thompson like role (minus the elite defense) and for the 1st time in his career is playing efficient as a mostly off ball shooter.

Bam finally got the shot attempts he should be getting for the 2nd time this season but Jimmy was still mainly froze out. That’s just flat out going to happen when you have a backcourt that’s only scoring minded and we can’t have Jimmy or Bam froze out. They need consistent touches through the course of a game so they have a rhythm going when the 4th comes around and it’s a close game (like KD had going last night). Jimmy was just kind of there all game and tried to turn up in the 4th, sure it might work sometimes but not when you’re going head to head with a KD/Booker duo.

The only issue is, we don’t have a reliable backup option playmaking and defense wise who can shoot and has experience to make them trustworthy every night so I don’t know if Terry will be moved to 6th man.

..He doesn't seem like the most intelligent guy in the world though... Really hope I am right about how he will recover

Rozier definitely needs to be moved to the bench but I think it would mess with Herro's effectiveness too. I think Herro greatly benefits from having another traditional ball handler to run with. This is the most I've seen him be able to spot up since like 2020 and its working for his efficiency. Then he's able to pick his spots better to attack and distribute where he's also been the best I've ever seen.

Without a ball handler replacement for Rozier, we're probably stuck with the lineup as is.

I don’t understand how with the Hornets Terry is an elite playmaker and scorer in the pick and roll, I think he was top 5 in both, and now he comes here and isn’t effective at all in the pick and roll. It’s like guys come here and forget how to hoop

MWP, Bam doesnt needs pressure taken off of him scoring wise. Bam needs to be a go-too scorer plain and simple. Adding someone to take shots away from Bam is not the problem. Are we expecting Vucevic to average 10 and Bam average 10 so combine its 20? Naw Bam needs to step up offensively. The Heat have quality scoring talent on the roster right now. The problem is schematic and Bam and Butler stepping up. Players are still trying to figure out how they fit and whats their roles?
