which as much as I love the guy...hasn't proven to work. They are still asking him to not only be the offense but also be the defense too...oh and do it while not playing a lot of games too btw..no pressure just got to win every game you play or else we won't make the playoffs.

I really don't think any other plan would have made this team better. I still think they went the best route. This team was always going to be substantially worse without Embiid. Without him they have zero shot to win a title. That would not change regardless of what offseason plan they enacted. It was always about having a big 3 for a title run in the playoffs.

Them clearing out their entire roster but 3 players and trying to put the rest of it together through free agency and draft was not an ideal situation, but neither was having a team with no flexibility and a bunch of mediocre players sans Embiid and Maxey. They were in an absolutely horrendous spot because of years of mistakes. They chose the one path that allowed them to get the best player possible without sacrificing picks. Even if they went another route, they're still confined to having to construct a roster entirely of signings which gave them limited options.

If Embiid comes back healthy they'll be much better and hopefully they pick up an impactful piece at the deadline. Honestly, the big picture concern right now aside from Embiid's health should be if the coach is any good. He may not be. Getting schooled by Tom freaking Thibodeau in the playoffs who is not known for being the world's best tactician was a major red flag. And then this season the team looks like it has no idea how to operate any semblance of a functional offense.

Martin being a bum will limit the ceiling of this team. He needs to be our Derrick White and he is flat out terrible right now.

Martin took a lot less money (almost 1/2 as much while paying income tax now) to join us, so I admired that even if he wanted to change his mechanics, which probably wasn't allowed to with the Heat.

Honestly this team is out of sorts because they have not had a full roster of their best players to play games with. When Embiid comes back it's gonna take a few games. But once they all get on the same page this team is going to take off like a rocket.

Maxey has been asked to do too much to start off the season.
PG injured and now new teammates, and new team. Their is an adjustment period.
Embiid will have the same problem. Maxey having a bigger role. PG fitting in with him. It is going to take a minute.

He was essentially trying to get George to pay from the midpost to emulate Joel, but it just led to sloppy play and turnovers. He shot the ball well, but... Seemed out of sync and so did the team. There was a lack of movement off the ball, it was just iso play.

But, even I who has always known Nurse was overrated will give him more time with this roster than some
Phoenix for example shows how hard it is to get even what should be a well fitting super team to work without the stars playing. Guys will miss games, but they need to get healthy and figure it out first and then we can assess. Even though they had training camp without Joel and should have better understanding, it's still only 2 games

He was very involved in the community where he was BORN AND RAISED!!! donated a lot to make life better for many and is now being booed. Something you don't seem to grasp as you are booed from your home town that would bother like most people who cares. He was probably crying inside.
