lol it’s hilarious to watch the discrepancy in how Portis is viewed here vs Reddit bucks board. Here he is a nice positive asset. Reddit bucks has him with a horrible net rating and as one of the worst defenders in the entire league. They say he routinely gets targeted and they’re better without him and they say that he’s a negative value contract that they’d love to dump. No opinion myself bc I havent seen a single bucks game but thought I’d point it out

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Bobby is a damn bucket and he is a very good rebounder. He also struggles to play within the flow of the offense and is often clueless on defense, with limited athleticism. Very well suited to be that 2nd unit offensive buoy.

That's how I see Portis, a spark on offense as first big off the bench, while closing out defensive possessions with rebounds.

Stretch bigs who rebound and play with edge have value. I think he's worth a notch above Kelly Olynyk.

I hear you, I actually wanted him on the lakers (in exchange for maybe vando? as bucks get a good wing defender vs the Celtics/sixers/knicks and they already have plenty of size down low), but I got scared away reading bucks fans abs trash him on Reddit
