The last three games Spo has mad adjustments to get Butler and Bam the ball. Since the last three games.

Bam Adebayo - 20 pts, 20 fga, 40.0 fg%, 1.0 3pm, 2.3 3pa, 42.9 3p%, 11.3 rebs, 4.3 ast, 2.0 blk
Jimmy Butler - 15 pts, 15 fga, 46.7 fg%, 0.3 3pm, 1.3 3pa, 25.0 3p%, 5.7 rebs, 4.3 ast, 1.0 stl
Tyler Herro - 23.3 pts, 14 fga, 54.8 fg%, 4.0 3pm, 8.0 3pa, 50.0 3p%, 5.0 rebs, 3.3 ast
Duncan Robinson - 9.0 pts, 6.5 fga, 46.2 fg%, 3.0 3pm, 4.5 3pa, 66.7 3p%, 1.5 ast
Terry Rozier - 9.7 pts, 9.7 fga, 31.0 fg%, 2.3 3pm, 6.7 3pa, 35.0 3p%, 5 rebs, 4.3 ast
Pelle Larsson - 8.7 pts, 6.5 fga, 60.0 fg%, 1.3 3pa, 3.3 3pm, 40.0 3p%, 2.3 ast

The shooters have been shooting well. Herro, Rozier (until last night), Robinson, Burks, Larsson
The only shooter who hasnt gotten his shot back is Jovic. Hopefully Jovic can get his touch back.
Bam has been efficient but passing up open 3 point opportunities. He needs to average close to 4 a game.

8 shots at the rim, 5 spots up 3s, 3 from mid range. That needs to be Bams shot diet, it will skyrocket his efficiency

In order for the offense Spo is trying to run Bam has to take these threes. He can not pass them up or his man will camp in the paint and hurt the Heat offense for everyone else.

Teams are defending Jovic at the perimeter dispite his struggles. So Jovic is stretching the court. He does need to start knocking them down, or defenders will start slacking off him as well. If he doesnt, then the Heat definitely need to look at a player like Cameron Johnson to be a stretch four.

Bam has to shoot that three to open it up for the guards to get points in the paint

It’s coming. People like to mention Horford and Bosh, those guys didn’t even start attempting them until they turned 29 so we’re ahead of the curve there with Bam currently attempting 2 at the the age 27, and hopefully more as the season goes on.

And say what you will about the result of them early on this season but his jumper looks pretty damn pure, he shot them at a very high clip to end last season for 2 months, over the summer, and in preseason. Hes just in a little funk right now.

Actually just about everyone is outside of Herro, I’m not sure if guys are just still trying to get comfortable in the new offense, if we’re shuffling roles game to game or whatever but in Herros case he’s just finally doing what we’ve been asking him to do for years, be an off the ball catch and shoot/attack player. Hes attempting 1 midrange Jumper a game the rest are 3s and rim attempts, honestly I think just about everyone should adopt this **** diet outside of Jimmy and Bam but moreso Jimmy.

Once Bosh was moved to the three point line he started at 1.0 3pa to 2.8 3pa to 3.8 3pa then finally 4.2 3pa

Ya, but Horford n Bosh sacrificed bigger roles to play complimentary roles for their teams and developed 3 to open up for the stars of their teams. Is that what Bam is ultimately? He needs two bigger stars for Heat to win? I thought he had another level to his game before this season. But I'm beginning to think he has peaked. He could develop n improve 3 to be a third star on a championship team but that might be his ceiling. Idk, that's my way early season take.

We’ve been to the finals twice with him as our 2nd best player, I’m not sure we need someone who is better than him to win it but I’m definitely not opposed to getting someone like that or at least on his level. I’m not sure Horford and Bosh’s situations were that similar, Bosh legit sacrificed, Horford was always the best or 2nd best player on his teams but yea he developed the 3 to likely age better and also fit better in todays game. FWIW Horfords peak season would be a “decent/solid” season for Bam

Bams adding a 3 and continuing to work on it through his career doesn’t do anything but help us and Bams longevity.

Two miraculous runs led by historically abnormal super human efforts by Jimmy. That Jimmy is gone. Bam can be a second star to a top 5 star maybe, but he's good, not great. I still maintain his ceiling has reached. He's not aggressive enough to be a leader of a championship team. He's the (reluctant) captain, he's been in the organization all these years. You gotta demand the ball, act like you are the man who will carry the team.

How many more years do we have left on Duncan's contract? We need to package him and Jovic see what we can get for him.

Return to Miami Heat
