great offense this qtr, ball movement and decision making has been on point

the wolves really haven't figured out what they are doing on defense, but the Bulls are missing open shots
guys just aren't switching correctly or rotating quickly enough, everything is a second too late

Wolves got lucky with Nikola Vucevic gone cold. I can smell blood now... :eyebrows:

Stomp (or bite) on their throats on this quarter!

We played around 6-8 minutes of tough defense all night and that looks like it's enough (at least against the short handed Bulls).

I like that they're looking for Rudy more
obviously he can be super awkward, hands are stone sometimes

but he's a 7'1 dude that defenses are naturally going to scramble when he has the ball in the paint, its just human nature to react

sometimes he goes too long without touches that I think he just makes up his mind he's going to shoot it no matter what, but when he's getting it consistently it seems like he's more likely to make the correct basketball play

Anthony Edwards' three-point shooting might be real.

Yes, just need to work it out as a team and put more superstick in Gobert's hands

No Quantical Maths here.
No Phi D needed.

You manage yourself to play aggressive and tough defense one possession after another, even if not accurate...
... you win more often than not.

They are struggling to find the defensive mojo they sustained all last season.
It's not all Randle's fault of course.
But sure he has more to prove than the rest in this area.

KAT's defending shoes aren't exactly the most difficult ones to fill and he's struggling to even knot the laces.

It was really nice to see Jaden and Mike get on track on the offensive end. When those two are playing well, this team has the talent to be a top 10 offense.

when the defense is going hard at ANT, Rudy rolling should always be there

if the team recognizes that, everyone knows that is the go-to, it should open up a lot of opportunity

either Rudy has a clear path to the basket with only maybe a smaller guy rotating over to get past, or if there isn't a clear path, he should be kicking it to a corner or cutter

the trust in Rudy just hasn't been there for it to be consistent, and his clumsiness is a legit reason for that.

But again, I think he'd cut down on forcing that stuff if he got the ball more consistently. When he touches it two times a quarter, he naturally is going to feel pressure to do something when he does get one of those rare times

this game the biggest problem seemed to be other players not responding to Rudy's defensive QBing
Bulls have a big weapon with Vuc being able to hit the 3, and were forcing a lot of switching with screens

Rudy as the backline would be calling out that he would take the ball handler if the point defender wasn't getting through Vuc's screen quickly enough, but they would follow the ball handler and leave Vuc

Rudy as the back line has to be the one to make that call, he has the clearest view

Rudy was exactly the same vocal last year than this one, MN7725.

This game, defensive problems will pop up from this side, next game from this other side...
...'til the team recovers its defensive flow.

And (to my eyes, based in this early games including Early pre Season) before recovering it, you need to integrate Randle.
That's main point of Finch Thibodanian current rotation I guess: to accelerate Randle's defensive fit with his teammates.

Divi doesn't apparently need it that much.
