I'm seeing something that I really like with Zacch. He seems to already have the same catch the ball high and without loading take it up immediately up into the shot, like Bog has developped. At 6'10" that is going to be so deadly. So nice to see our 19 year old able to do this amongst so many other things he can do

Predictions for NBAs's Top Rookie Prospects

Atlanta Hawks: Zaccharie Risacher

2024 Draft: No. 1
Age: 19
Height/Weight: 6'8", 200 lbs
2024-25 Projected Role: Initially a top reserve, eventually starting

Prediction: Risacher got some love from the general manager survey (h/t NBA.com) as one of the best players in his class in five years, but he didn't get any votes for Rookie of the Year (ROY).

That's an oversight, as he'll get more of an opportunity for minutes and touches than the GM favorites. Put him down for ROY and the All-Rookie team as the top-scoring first-year player at 15 points per game, and awards tend to go to bucket-getters over screen-setting/rebounding big men and defensive role players.

I've come around a lot more to Zacch. I like the structure of having multiple tall, long wings(DD, Zacch, JJ) with Trae that can all move around him and make the hockey assist passes off each other. Zacch's shooting will become a weapon at some point, and he will battle with JJ for 2nd fiddle touches, but it will more so in the flow of the offense where it's more like alternating between them.

Overall, I really like the direction we're going. There's shades of what Schlenk was initially trying to build, but with a lackluster 2019 draft(Hunter/Cam), he failed to bring it into fruition. Really loving the way we reshuffled.

The kid is looking a bit more fluid running the PnR as ballhandler.

Kudos to Zacc and the coaching staff for the very evident improvements already.
