Our defender om him was bigger longer and just as fast. This time he didnt have a Zion or Murray to take the pressure off.

NGL... i thoughy he was gonna flirt with 40 after his 1st quarter.

Kinda disappointing for me. But a win is a win

I don’t think he played the whole 4th quarter, so he didn’t get the chance/wasn’t needed.

Take it as a big win.

They needed this win to recover mentally .

I won't go any deeper about this one, playing team that is devastated by injuries , but Wagner bros looked great, especially Franz.

Wizards game should look similar to this one. Play solid defense and Wizards will defeat themself.

After all my negatives posts about Anthony I wanna wrote some positive stuff.

AB is already the most complete defender for me out of our guards. Suggs impact is prolly still bigger and he causes more chaos but AB is more versatile and disciplined. Unlike Suggs & KCP he bothers almost every shot even when beaten off the dribble til the rim.

For a second year player he makes almost no mistakes and his passing and vision looks much better.

He still can't beat defender without a pick buuuut he attacks now every mistake the opponent offers. When he goes over the screen, when he bites on fakes, comes late or doesn't have defensive stance. Really encouraging + he uses his body better now while driving. That's really night and day to last year.

Box-score thoughts:

The Magic won (dominated) the FG% battle and won the game.

Interestingly the Magic also dominated the defensive and offensive rebounding stat lines.

A nice >2 assist/TO line.

and yes, Orlando's three-ball was again horrible. But the FTM rate was very nice.

...

And my favorite stat: with this win the Magic is currently only 1 game back of the 3-seed. (that's hilarious).

Spoiler:
The current 4-seed has a losing record!

I agree about the D. AB might yet be the guy that drives Suggs out…Suggs’ D is more wild & proactive, but AB is just always there. Suggs makes things happen. AB prevents things from happening. Both are awesome but, if FO decided there was a big scoring guard target out there…Suggs could bring back a lot. Hopefully, Suggs keeps generating more scoring and, ultimately, he and AB are a great 2-way backcourt.

Nice to finally get a win but the shooting needs to get better, 25% from 3 against a horrible defensive team which left our players wide open time and time again won't do it against better teams. KCP was fantastic defensively but again finished without a made 3. Da Silva was 1/7, Suggs shot poorly too.

Black with another very solid game, nice to see. Franz was great, especially early on.

I'd like to see Franz go for 40 or more a couple of times while Paolo is out...just for the mental boost - the All-Star rumblings, etc

Good for him and ORL long term to cement his status (even if with occasional "empty" stats) in the league.

Obviously, really looking for breakout scoring games from KCP and even more from Suggs too...given the vacuum Paolo leaves

Franz directly won his matchup against Ingram. How tf did Boston cook Suggs and KCP?

22 year old, vet minimum, 6'6, Kentucky alum, always been an intriguing multi-level scorer buried on LAC's bench...nice find

I thought Suggs played relatively poor defense last night, by his standards at least.

Body language didn't look good on the bench either last night.

NBA is always full of selfish dudes who can create their shot and will keep on shooting untill taken back to the bench. Yet somehow Magic don't have those, only Cole maybe. Our type is a 3 and some D team player who can't create much and go cold from deep often.

I love Suggs' fire but his body language is generally kind of like some soccer crybaby...he comes up limping every game and miraculously shakes it off immediately. He writhes on the ground selling possible fouls a little too long and he's a little too down when he's down.

I like his passion. I really do - that's what makes him who he is. But, he could tone it down a little on the outside. In the good old days, a hard guy would pop right up and disregard the offender, showing no pain (even when it hurt)...I honestly think it's the soccer influence spilling over into the most international of the American pro leagues. (Canadians in the NHL don't count  and they sure as heck don't show discomfort in hockey).

Glad Cole played well. Even though Im not a fan of the player, we need him to play well. We dont have a player like him on the bench, and need him to boost his trade value lol
