The new offense's shot distribution is part of the problem. Our starting five is completely unbalanced: we've got two scorers who struggle on defense, a power forward who can't defend or shoot consistently, and one player just coasting. I won't be too hard on Bam since he's carrying a huge load on defense. But Rozier and Jovic have been awful on both ends of the floor. It's so frustrating.

I understand all that, and I understand Bam not scoring 20 ppg ... but this garbage efficiency needs to end today. He has a true shooting percentage of 46.4% which is trash for a big man. It's not good for anyone of any size at any position.

Had him working too much on making 3’s instead of just keeping to refining his mid which has become ass. The organization was so desperate with it’s internal improvement cause they can’t get chit done in the trade market due to lack if draft assets, bad contracts, and aging star player on essentially an expiring but not expiring due to player opt but wants extension making it hard to get a decent haul for him.

Spo needs to reset the new offense again and go back to what worked for Bam. The front office is washed and everything is backfiring against them cause they can’t admit ineptitude

That offense sucked also. The only time that offense worked is with Duncan and Bam playing off each other. The offense in general hasnt been bad. It just needs to be great with this team and not have a bad third quarter. In order for it to be great, Bam, Butler and Rozier has to be good offensively

Bring in Keshad Johnson and Josh Christopher. They’ll at least bring energy and athleticism.

What’s laughable is what we have done to try and replace them since the last time we made it to the finals with that pairing.

With all these bad 3rd quarters, bad performances of Bam, Butler and Rozier, the Heat are ranked 14th on offense with an ORtg of 114.2.

2023-24
114.0 ORtg

2022-23
113.0 ORtg

2021-22
113.7 ORtg

2020-21
111.2 ORtg

2019-20
112.5 ORtg

Defensively is where the team has gotten worse and that has happen every year except for the PJ Tucker and Bubble year

It was certainly that groups last hurrah. Just saying the PG play has been abysmal. Rozier was a band aid that just hasn’t worked out. Feel like we would better off just committing to Dru Smith and Isiah Stevens.

Rozier has struggled, but he hasnt struggled at offensive things he cant get better at. Its only been 8 games. He wasnt bad the first three games. He was leading the team in scoring ato 19 pts along with Herro. But since then he has struggled. With all the struggle from 3 of the 4 stars the offense in general has been better than previous years. We should expect Rozier to get better, as well as we should expect Butler and Bam to get better. Hopefully Jovic and Jaquez to get better. Its way too early to settle for what we see.

Kuminga contract also going to be a problem. We would have to be 100% sold on him. We also have the tax problem. Butler needs to be dealt for a player making half that’s useful along with a few picks. Especially a pick in 2026 that prevents the Hornets from getting a 2028 unprotected.

Rozier is a low IQ chucker. There isn’t no getting better with this group. What you see is what you get

OK MWP, the sky is falling.

I am giving them until All-Star break. I most certianly expect Rozier to get a whole lot better. A good 18 -19 point player. And I expect him to get better defensivley. I do agree with you there needs a more ready glue guy over Jovic right now and Highsmith. But i am not close to moving on from Jovic. That is why I am pushing for Cameron Johnson. I think the Heat can get him without losing much.

Return to Miami Heat
