Race is always a touchy subject, but I'm interested in the racial dynamics of Cooper Flagg.

It's been a while since the NBA had an American-born white superstar. I wonder if the league immediately markets the ef out of him and tries to get that Caitlyn Clark rub.

I know the season hasn't started yet, but do you like Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey better?

TBH, I'm always looking for the Jordan archetype so I'm hoping Bailey is the next one.

I haven't really seen either yet, but I've seen people say Flagg is anywhere from the next coming all the way to him being a overrated role player. So I'll probably reserve judgment until he plays legit opponents. If he's "the guy" this year, then he'll fry Kentucky next week since there's no one on our team that can defend him at that size.

The difference is that the NBA has a fan base and doesn't need a white savior the way the WNBA did and still does. The WNBA was essentially a non-entity until Clark was drafted, and their buzz exists primarily because of her play.

If Flagg is as great as advertised, he'll be seen that way in some circles. I highly doubt the NBA would make any kind of extra effort to promote him, as that would open up a can of worms with their current stars I'm not sure they would want to get into.

I feel like we are a little past the “Great White Hope” marketing strategy for the NBA. That feels like it’s more in the realm of the NFL now a la Tom Brady. For the NBA, you’ve gotta have insane charisma to pull off superstardom because there is such a fine line between confidence & arrogance.

Ant has the right mixture because he’s cocky as hell but also very charming. Wemby, on the other hand, strikes me as arrogant and will quickly wear out his welcome.

Early showings from this class have been insane.

Tre Johnson looks like a STUD. Might be the most impressive of anyone so far.

Loving this type of leap. Keeping a close eye on him.

Flagg's ability is evident, but he still needs time to cook. His end of game mistakes costed Duke.

Cats have zero first rounders on their roster. Good college team though! Oweh would have to really hit another gear to be considered a first rounder. Carr and Amari Williams are possibly second rounders. The rest have glaring holes in their game.

With you on that Kobble. Is he tall enough to play the 3 at the pro's?

Knee jerk reaction from stats and his highlights.... this is the guy. Could regret this in a few months but he looks great.

I'm going to get my toolsy, doughboi big man interest out of the way. This guy looks legit and actually has impressive acceleration to the rim. Doesn't shoot from the outside but already looks like an intelligent player with distribution ability. I'm guessing he goes top 10 when it's all said and done.

Annoying that Bub Carrington is playing well. Messes with my data points of who I like at the next level. Makes the eye test more important as I loved his game while watching him, but he was bad at steal generation and finishing at the rim. Haven't dived into the numbers yet during his rookie year, but I imagine those haven't improved at this level yet which could affect his ceiling. I guess the takeaway with the eye test is to always trust the elite traits, which his shot form and his handle were pretty spectacular for someone as young as him.

Maybe about 40-50% of his minutes can be at SF. I'm guessing his true size is about 6'5" 180 pounds with a less than 6'9" wingspan. Similar size to a Will Barton (who played about that much at SF through his career).

Could be a rough fit then. I have them ranked Flagg/Ace/Tre so far in terms of Sixer interest.

First thing that comes to mind comparisons for some of the top guys.

Cooper Flagg - uber Franz Wagner
Ace Bailey - Andrew Wiggins
Tre Johnson - Devin Booker or uber Tyler Herro
Dylan Harper - Cade Cunningham

In terms of fit for the Sixers, I love Kon Knueppel and Liam McNeeley. Both have size to play SF and can shoot it from three.

This guy is really good, but he needs David Goggins in his life.

Ace Bailey clips are hilarious because he'll be getting locked down by a Latvian league future all-star and then chuck up some contested BS.

Tough shot making is a skill, but the high level scorers make it look easy.

Egor Demin is intriguing. Not sure I see the self-creation upside that would lock him out of being a #1 OA caliber player, but he's a true playmaking big guard / point forward. Jumper looks pure so it should ascend him beyond Josh Giddey / Anthony Black territory. Going to ignore that early FT% on the basis that he's only played four games and was 2/7 in his first two starts. 3/3 today, lets get that >77%.

I keep a look out for home connect talent

Proctor is a name, was touted as going lotto last season but underwhelmed

But one thing I know for sure is:

1. That Aussie can't shoot worth a salt
2. That Aussie is a fukn sniper wowee

No in between lol.

So yeah still 20 too early to give up on talent. Could be a diamond in the rough type of pick.

I spotted Ivey and PWat before their college season before draft, and watching the game on tele I remembered Proctor in the Asia Cup

So yeah Morey once again no harm if he puts together a legit season.
Li WenWen is the GOAT
