^There is plenty of time for Kuzma to come back and hopefully show enough as long as the Wizards don't expect to get much and move on from him.

i.e. a couple of 2nds. We are not getting a 1st for him unless we take bad long-term salary. Mark my words...

Which is not an issue considering the 90% rule and the number of current expiring contracts we have.

OKC can’t take em all, I hope we can pinch one of these.

It's not 5. One of those is a swap. It's just 4. And the Utah pick definitely won't convey. The Miami one might not either.

So it's really just:
the best of the OKC/LAC/HOU pick
the PHI pick (assuming PHI is not a bottom 6 team)
and maybe the MIA pick if they don't pick in the lottery.

Wiz pick next year is only protected 1-8. Trade Kuz to NY to get that pick back! Maybe we get one of the NY young guys back in the trade, or trade for Mitchell Robinson who you might be able flip when he gets healthy.

I think that time has passed. Other GM's know we are looking too talented and well run to bet on us getting a top 8 pick in 2026. I would guess most GMs would heavily bet on us getting a pick in the 8-12 range, which unfortunately is the worst scenario for us.

I thought that was the strategy. Add Holmes, Brogden and Bagley to that list. They either get traded for bad contracts and draft capital or they expire allowing the Wizards to trade for just the contract and draft capital.

I REALLY want to add another top 10 pick in this years draft....

Any of Kuz, Kispert, Brogdon, Poole, Val, Bagley, Take back a bad contract... whatever we can do to make it happen!

We aren't getting another top 10 pick. Best case would be mid 1st but more likely a late 1st.

Maybe we can acquire 2 late 1sts in 2 separate deals (Kuz? Val?) taking back unwanted contracts, and then package those picks for a top 10 (8-12) pick? Maybe include Kispert?

Top 4 I'm looking Flagg, Ace, Egor, Harper... But I have my sights set on Asa Newell, and desperate to acquire another pick with him as the target. IMO adding a young rebounder who attacks the boards with physicality is an essential structural component to the building of this roster, and I see Asa as a perfect compliment to pair in the frontcourt with Sarr.

We acquired a late 1st last year for Gafford... Can we repeat that process twice this year? (Kuz, Val, Brogdon?)

Can we then acquire another pick to get a targeted player, as we did last year for Bub, for something like Kispert, 2 late 1sts + our 2nd (35)...?

Everyone else sees the same star potential in the top of this draft that you do. They're not going to trade down.

The best we can do with all of our assets is to try and acquire late FRP's. And chances are, they won't be picks in the 2025 draft. They will be picks in the distant future because most of the teams interested in our vets don't have upcoming FRP's to trade.

The best chance to acquire a 2025 pick will probably be to acquire distant FRP's by trading Brogdon/Kuzma/JV and then trading those future picks to OKC. OKC has at least 2 and probably 3 FRP's next year. OKC has a very young team with lots of guys to develop and probably doesn't want 3 more rookies. They will probably be open-minded to trading those picks into the future. They're negotiating from a position of strength though, so it probably won't be a great deal for us. They certainly won't give us a lotto pick.

Of course the further out the picks are the less certain one can be about their spots -- will they be late? mid? early?

I’d settle for a pick in the teens. Hopefully Poole can catch fire again because the rest of our trade “assets” don’t look super interested in playing hard for a team that loses by 25 every night

Green light to shoot as long as he's hot in the hopes of generating interest . . . sure! The keys to run the offense as if he was a point guard, what has he shown in the way of generating good shots for others that the turnovers don't negate? That and we need Bub to hold the keys so that he will learn to use them though he's not there now.

There’s got to be a deal to be made with Milwaukee… a team with high hopes that needs a jolt. Something with Kuzma + local star Johnny Davis as a throw in.

The Bucks don't have anything to trade. Everyone on their roster save Giannis has negative value relative to their contract, and they've already mortgaged all their picks for years to come.
