NYPost: Hideki to SF?
wow I like this for any of those 2 pitchers but I doubt Hideki will waive his no trade clause and then we can send who ever we get from them to Minny W/ Melky and Ian
. . The Giants asked about Hideki Matsui and are talking to the Blue Jays about Alex Rios for pitchers Matt Cain or Tim Lincecum. Matsui has a full no-trade clause

I would trade Damon long before I would trade Matsui. The guy who needs to go back to the Bay Area is Giambi. Too bad he ever left.

Just a small blurb from Elliott - the Giants and Yanks have discussed Hideki Matsui. Elliott notes that Matsui has a full no-trade clause. He makes $13MM in each of the 2008 and '09 seasons. On November 8th, Ken Davidoff noted that the Yanks would prefer to move Matsui over Johnny Damon. He added that it could be embarrassing for Matsui to leave New York.

we'll could get Lowry for Matsui

Maybe we can give them Abreu and Melky and get back Jonathan Sanchez and that crappy outfielder who didn't know how to track down a fly ball to save his life. Just joking fellas.

Wow, people here are certainly down on Matsui. He's the best all around left handed hitter the Yanks have had since Paul O'Neil. Just put him in left field and hope he stays healthy.

I don't think anyone is too down on him. I'd only deal him if we could get Cain or Lincecum in return.
Plus he is not a left-fielder, he'd mostly a DH as we have Damon playing left field. Matsui's knees are shot and we also have Giambi (who is primarily a DH at this point) already so it's sort of overkill.

Bobby Abreu is better.
