I rarely post in this thread because I don't want to jinx anything, I've been excited about Gradey's upside for a long time. But after last night I figured **** it he had an off night and it wasn't because I jinxed it.

Last night Gradey went 3-10 overall.

0-5 from 3, which means he went 3-5 from 2.

Funnily enough Gradey's three point percentage dropped, but his mid range numbers improved.

These are some silly shooting splits.

Seeing some droppage of numbers from gradey after teams started game planning for him.
Not worried though, as he would perform soooo much better with IQ and Scottie in the lineup to lift the burden.
The Rj +dick as one-two punch games are going to be tough for both of them as other teams game plan for them. Need to see the long picture here. The extra attention dick is getting is going to work out on his favor.

Missed the game. What happened?

I think this off season Gradey needs to.work on being mindful.of when he has the.advantage to draw a foul. The defense is playing him super tight & he needs to start learning how to punish them for it. There have been quite a few plays over the past few games where he had the advantage because the defender was not in a legal defensive position, but playing him tightly. In those situations Gradey chose to avoid contact or pass the ball rather than seek contact..

He is an elite FT shooter & I think he can score a lot more.points from the line..

I had just made the above post after his previous game because I noticed he was avoiding contact when he had the defender on his heels & not in a legal guarding position. There were several times that game where it was obvious that he would have gone to the line if he continued to be aggressive & seek contact..

To see him last night seek contact in those exact same situations was amazing. This kid learns quickly. I don't think we have ever had a prospect that can learn something & put it into practice as quickly as Gradey does.

No idea what his ceiling is.

Gradey isn't a guy who is likely to get his shot off consistently when targeted by defenses on good teams. He needs screen(s) or a high gravity scorer on the same floor to excel. That's OK as long we get that talent via draft.

And with all the cuts and running that Gradey been doing, he could be gassed ( and prone to injury) with more games

He has the potential to be a weapon offensively. I'm just not sure he gets there defensively to really allow him to play big minutes. He still has lots of time and he tries. But he's limited. The Lakers really picked on him tonight.

He's being scouted against and it's a blocker right now. He needs a primary option like Barnes next to him that a team already has focus on. This will open up his game as a ternary option.

Until then Dick has an opportunity to show why he's a better player than both IQ and Barrett. Based on what he's already shown I don't think that will be too hard.
