I don’t fear that at all lol there’s still great prospects at 5-6.

Yep. Getting a top 6 pick in a strong draft is awesome. I don't even know if Flagg is the consensus #1 this year, too early to tell.

Ok but here's the thing; we gave up several wins already because of self-inflicted mistakes. The Hornets game, both Denver games and the Clippers game, were easily winnable games. Meaning: we could very well be 4 and 6 making a tank year an illusion (in my opinion, it still is).metafisical wrote:Clutch0z24 wrote:C_Money wrote:
The schedule will turn easy again and watch us be fully healthy for it.
And don't be shocked when alot of the vets get moved for draft picks and prospects....By the time we are healthy we will be way 2 far behind in the standings to even try at that point and the draft lottery odds will be the priority for everyone
Masai better not blow this. Just like when he made the hard decision to trade away DD, OG, and Siakim at crucial times, he needs to make some decisions about our roster too. We still have a lot of deadweight. Get rid of them for more assets and complete the move to a full on tank.
I don't want any attempt at trying to make the play-in. Not this year.

Maybe we can just trade Mitchell and that and the odd injury here or there will be enough to keep us around 30 wins and the 4th or 5th draft slot?
Can sign a new backup PG (even Mitchell, lol) with the MLE this summer if Shead doesn't earn the job, along with the wing I'm assuming we draft.
I do actually like Mitchell's longer term fit here as the backup PG (if it's say 7M a year to keep him), in that we have well below average perimeter defence, and he has been alright at running the O in a limited usage kind of way, but not enough to say want the 9th draft slot going into the lottery versus the 6th slot.
