Philly and Milwaukee struggling this badly is pretty wild. New York seems fine, really. I kind of see it as a Boston, Cleveland, New York top 3 and then a massive opening for the 4th seed.

Normally i never pay much attention to West vs East actual win-loss co-relation but last week i started to notice that teams from East losing to ones from West on regular bases.

So i seeked for actual numbers and boy...

59-77. 43% win rate. That would be tied with lowest win rate from Eastern conference teams in nba history.
Fun fact:right now only 2 teams from East had positive record vs West. Cavs and Nets

This even creates unique set of problems for a league, where you are leaving in All star game some megastar from West at home ,and on East your allstars are Vuc, Franz, Poole, Cam Thomas, Herro, Barrett ?

IF you are owner of W.C. team this is driving argument for getting rid of conference when expansion happeneds. Last year Warriors were fringe playoff team, and on East, in reality they were probably better than 13-14 out of 15 teams.
Not to mention benefits from playing on East as you padd record as you play +50 games against own conference ( 52-30).

Am I the only one following every Nugget game like a sicko?

Man almost every game they play is a close game, but they pull it out. Their pick might be in 20s after all.

Jokic is the best player in the game, not even up for debate.

Jokić man...
in last 3 games he has 45 assists on 14 turnovers.

That's more than any individual Magic ( or many other teams) guards have since start of a season. He will put Nuggets on his back and carry them to 50 wins. But i'm note sure how happy he can be with roster makeup.

On other side, it feels like Giannis is reaching boiling point, that trade demand is just matter of hours.

Mikal Bridges is such a overrated defender. I would have liked a different player type than KCP and his shot is not there yet but he is a heck of a better defender than Bridges.

The debate who should have been №1 pick in 2022 would probably go on for a while, but so far Chet is proving true all fears about him, thats 2 out of 3 seasons derailed by an injury.

i clicked send before putting number one in the draft, but yeah : )

Jalen is also getting slightly better each year, but he is almost 24 already and doesnt looke like a leading man, so i guess Paolo would be seen as the logical choice in the future.
on the other hand 2021 is the year that still doesnt have a clear answer i think it wont have for a while.

Chet is absolutely awesome, there’s no doubt about that.

But two major injuries in basically one full season of play…

So the Sixers has 186M tied up in payroll for a team that could be the 15 seed in the East.

That the Wiz is 5x more likely to make the playoffs is a big LOL.

EDIT:

The Magic's most likely playoff position based on this is the 4-seed. I think we can all take comfort in that!

those "projections" are based on nothing but win percentage. It's probably excel table that turns cumulative standing (win-loss) to "projection".
For example Houston has 3rd highest chance to win conference.

That is a wild injury. That's really going to slow down the Thunder I think, hopefully IHart is back soon.

ANd-1

The "give-away" is the Pistons at a 56% chance. That's a joke!

They use their simple rating system (SRS) which is a mix of strength of schedule and margin of victory. No priors are included, so it is completely informed by the current season. It becomes increasingly reliable as we play more games.

Embiid is back on Tuesday. I strongly suspect you'll see them rocket up the standings in short order.
