Swapping Mikal for Giannis is CRAZY.

So that they can be a fringe playoff team with now no assets? I guess if that’s what they want lol.

They also have the Suns picks to make moves and build around Giannis. They have a bunch of assets.

Realistically who could they get Giannis who is currently better than Dame? It would be a waste of time. Having Giannis is a nice luxury but he’d be better off joining a team that already has a championship foundation. The Nets would be no threat at anything serious. Just like KD Harden and Kyrie, they’d be the second team in NY and they wouldn’t win a damn thing so who cares.

That would be the biggest fumble by the Knicks. All these years they said we been waiting on that big fish and blew our load so our rivals can get him. Nasty work if that happens

Honestly, Giannis doesn't strike me as the type that'd come to NY to play second fiddle.

How old were mj and bron when they won their first ring?

A more appropriate question is how old was MJ when he played his first playoff game (22)? How old was MJ when he won is first playoff series (25)? I wouldn't even dare compare those 2 to him. I rather compare him to Reggie Miller.

Unlike LeBron and MJ, Victor isn't going to have the career anything close to those 2. No body is going to convince me that a 7 foot center/guard shooting a measly 42/28 is going to be significantly better down the road and dominant the league in due time. With MJ and LeBron, their numbers were consistent right from the gate. By that observation, these numbers are going to be Wemby's career numbers. Give or take.

You lost me at the Reggie Miller comp

I mean, that's the point. His ceiling is not LeBron/MJ-esque. History has shown us anyone over 7 foot will eventually have chronic back/feet/knee problems. A 7 footer trying to play like a 2 guard smells like a recipe for disaster.

Clear lack of whimsy in your life.

Sure, that's been the norm as your post is surrounded by news of chet's broken hip. But if he stays healthy and they build a team around him. He is a true unicorn.

Remember he ruined his foot after that pro am game with bron and he barely had any contact with him. He might be one of those fragile guys.

If Victor ends up getting injury prone we can all point at you as the blame for his down fall since the Guan0 curse has ruined so many careers. If Victor ends up being a GOAT I will make sure you don't get any credit. Win win situation here!!!

The audacity. You have the worse curse. You've exiled more people than Trump. Players hear you're a fan and they start learning mandarin. Or expand their diets to spaghetti, paella, croissants, gyros or some other European delicacy. They know they're days are numbered here.

Oh my bad. I think Marc Stein actually said Brooklyn is one of the teams he wants to play for as well. Think he just wants to be in NY.

Heh, we said this about KP. I mean, look at this year alone with big men: Mitch, I-Hart, KP, Joel, KD, Chet now, and this isn't even including the lesser known guys like Duren. We always play this "if" game and it rarely works out. And if he does stay healthy, his ceiling is a 20 PPG, DPOY.

Like, how do you even built a team around him if his game is mediocre on the offensive end? He's too skinny to be in the interior, his jump shot isn't wet by any stretch of the imagination. His A/TO ratio is embarrassing, so you don't want him with the ball. I don't know many players who have sufficiently improved with 42/28 offensive splits.

Well the Nets were the best team in the league when healthy and they grabbed a lot of headlines then.

But regardless, Giannis would be a big move for the Nets and they have the assets to build a solid team around him pretty quickly. He's one of the best players in the NBA.

I'm not a Giannis fan so I'm not losing sleep over it. What I'm losing sleep over is the prospects they will draft with our unprotected picks for over a half decade. This is making me super nervous.

Return to New York Knicks
