RS 24/25 - Mavs @ Warriors (Tuesd 10PM EST Tonight)
The Warriors have had a surprisingly great start o the season (8-2), beating the Thunder and Celtics on the road. Maybe unclucth Luka shows up in this game to steal a W for once.

This roster is too good for not bounce back soon or later and , unfortunately for us, that will cover Kidd ineptitude this year too.
No way out for Mavs fans. Sad but true.

This is the game to bet your house on GSW.
No way in hell Mavs win this.
I hope Kidd rests everyone and prepares the game against Jazz on Thursday instead.
We are the Milwaukee Bucks of the west!

Man, Doc Rivers VS Jason Kidd is a great chess game played by 2 huge mastermind genius... I can't wait for Mavs-Bucks.
I just hope both the coach will not be fired until then

Kidd won't get fired that's just a fact. He got rewarded for getting them to the finals. But Lakers and LAC having a better result than Mavs right now is pure insanity to me.

Nothing of what Kidd is doing right now, he didn't do before.
Bad RS offensive schemes, totally rely on the stars.
Picking on players he doesn't appreciate.
He still was extended midway through the Clippers series.
To his credit, if he reaches the PO, he overacheives, he's able to adjust defensively to any scheme.
He's goimg nowhere unless Luka demands it, and he won't.

Agreed. Kidd / Luka / Kyrie / Lively are not going anywhere.
But if the current struggle further prolongs, what option do we have in terms of pushing the panic button?

Not sure, Lively is massive difference I want to see him back.
What bothers me is that if Kidd wasn't going to utilize movemet shooter like Klay why sign him?

Re: RS 24/25 - Mavs @ Warriors (Tuesd 10PM EST Tonight)
I think this is the core issue that won't go away. You are forced to play Luka, Kyrie and Klay together a lot, perhaps 30 mins. If you ask the trio to play defense, the stamina will hold them back big time. It hurts rhythm and shooting. On tired legs, shooters won't shoot very well. Missing Lively just makes things significantly more difficult. None of them can save energy on defensive end. Lively covers a lot of grounds and sees the floor as a defensive leader. This makes things way easier.
Back to the topic. Kidd does not fit the trio. Kerr, on the other hand, is significantly overachieving. I still think the Mavs should have signed Udoka instead of Kidd. Houston shows signs of becoming something at the very least.

I know but i am a dreamer... I hope new owners are less blind that Cuban.
However we are trying one the most incredible thing in NBA history, win a ring despite a pretty mediocre coach.
Boston did it in 2008 but the had Rondo, PP, Allen, Posey and Garnett plus TT like assistent coach.
Too easy.

GSW has one of the best roster depth in the league, it's not even funny... And their core is still cooking. Curry is ageless compared to fat Luka who has been declining at 25.

Steve Kerr is a great coach but luckily Warriors are not so scary at the end of the day.

Remember when a certain poster in the off-season was 100% sure Mavs will run triangle offense because Kidd talked to PJ? And then i said they won't, we will see same PnR action 1v5. Well...

The only difference is, Mavs did go away from Luka-ball and are trying to have more people involved at creating but problem is, Mavs had one of the best offense in the past years due to Luka-ball.
Nuggets are smart enough to run everything through Jokic and it keeps working because they have a coach who knows how to implement off-ball movement and it makes it easer for Jokic to find people. Luka needs to create on his own to find people. And on top of that, he looks totally unprepared for the season. If you go and check Mavs reddit, there are multiple topics people **** on him big time... like past 6 years didn't happen.
So yeah, TLDR; expect Klay to still try and play like he's Kobe and Kyrie will probably have to carry offense.

I'm that certain poster. And I'm too old to argue about what I didn't say. You "

Luka could learn a thing or two from Jokic and JKidd (as a player) about pushing the ball and making quick decisions. To his credit - Luka has done a better job adjusting his game this year. I do not think the Mavs have been committed to running a half court system to the level they need to. We have actually fell right back into the trap of playing through Luka and Kyrie too much instead of running a system. Once again, I'm not totally against the heavy pick and roll style for Luka - but it should be done 20-30% of the time and in late game situations. Now, if Dallas wants to play that way - trade Kyrie or let him opt out next year - and surround Luka with shooters, defenders, and finishers. Bring the top notch backup point guard off the bench and let him do the same thing Luka does every play. Then Dallas will be a pick and roll team everyplay. That's a very distinct style of basketball and its dependent on Luka average ridiculous numbers every night. I don't think thats good for his career or this team in the long term.
The Mavs should stick to creating a system (where Luka and Kyrie ) learn to play within the team concept. The issue they are having right now is commitment to the system, player development, and coaching. Kidd needs to be more hands on and demand discipline and demand they make the right play oppose to score by any means.

That's what weird about the NBA and matchups...despite how good GS played against those teams we should beat them Tuseday.

Small sample, but exactly what we expected
When 2 of the 3 are on the floor, great offense, great defense, when all 3 are on the floor, bad defense, worse offense...

I'm that certain poster. And I'm too old to argue about what I didn't say. You "" One or two man - Ball dominate offenses simply do not win championships historically because their easier to defend. Another problem with Luka Ball is his conditioning and his injury history...that style of playing is already shortening his career. It's literally dumb to play that way without running him into the ground... and his knees and back will pay the price by time he gets in his mid-30 if not before ...when those injuries take a toll - he's going to decline faster.
Luka could learn a thing or two from Jokic and JKidd (as a player) about pushing the ball and making quick decisions. To his credit - Luka has done a better job adjusting his game this year. You don't follow Mavs long enough to know what you're talking about. So i stopped reading half way through. Bob and others have told you MANY times that Mavs didn't even have personel to play any kind of other offense than so called Luka-ball. And that offense was a top offense in all those years but not because Luka wanted to play like that but because Mavs had no other choice.
And you still think Luka needs to learn from Kidd and others and change it up... But AGAIN you fail to understand it's not him who's creating offensive plan, it's entire coaching staff that's paid MILLIONS to come up with something. Right now it looks bad because Luka was not ready for the new season, he looks like a 60yo out there. If he was his usual God-mode self, Mavs would be 10-0 right now.
But whatever, i'm tired of discussing these simple concepts with you because no one on this board can get through you and i know you'll just keep rambling on and on about same stuff. That's why i also said in the past that you came here just to troll. 99% of Mavs fans know how it was in the past but you apparently don't.
