As far as Scheierman goes I just to see good efficiency and aggressiveness..

Let JD go. He won't make the NBA so why continue investing in him

Ridiculous, it often takes longer for PGs than wings to make it at the NBA level--and he just turned 22. That's 3 years younger than Peterson and 5 years younger than Hauser, who just made it a couple of years ago. He's got talent and he'll probably be a workable, third-string backup behind PP by the end of the year.

He also came out of tiny, nowhere high school with no real coaching, then had just a year in college.

I see a really good college player but I don't see another step to get up to in the league. Nothing seems to come easy for his physical and skill type.

It turns out the reason Jay Scrubb sat out the first game was not due to his acl injury. It was an elbow problem. Hopefully he plays tonight.

Hason Ward had 7 blocks in the opener in 25 minutes. That guy can jump.

JD might just be a 4 A player. Too good for the minors but not ready for the Show

Scheierman just did a Pritchard from way beyond half court to end the third. 6-9 from 3. He's looking pretty impressive.

Did anybody notice the Kid (about 4 yrs old) in the Scrubb jersey, sitting in the Front row with his Dad?

Edit:
For an Away Game.

Scheierman had a pass conect to Watson for a lob that i was a little bit surprised by because the window was kind of tight. It was a display of his QB background on that lob because he passed him open to the lob

JD Davison with 30 points and 14 assists. 6 more points to become the (Maine) Celtics all time scoring leader. There's really nobody in the G-League that can stop him from getting to the rim.
Baylor Scheierman 24 points (6-10 from three including some deeep ones), 9 rebounds, 5 assists. Nice to see his shot fall after his rough summer but the most impressive part of his game is his passing. Needs reps to work on his defense though.
Anton Watson 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and a bunch of dirty work that doesn't show up in the box score. If he wants to make it at the next level, he probably needs to be a bigger scoring threat to force NBA defenses to guard him and avoid killing the spacing in but he'll be a winning player wherever he ends up.
Good to see Jay Scrubb back out there.

If JD could hold up on the defensive end, I’d be a lot higher on his chances to develop into an explosive backup guard and have an NBA career somewhere. But whenever I watch him, JD just can’t contain his man or get thru a screen etc and so, hate to say it, but I think I’ve given up on him

You might be right. But to be fair, there's basically 2 different archetypes of point guards (like with anything, there may be some outliers).

But it's:

1) low usage on offense but elite defenders..guys like Jrue, Marcus Smart, Chris Paul, Pat Beverly, alvarado, D-whte, Suggs, Anthony Black, Lonzo, etc.

2) High usage on offense..and have some sort of elite offensive traits which enable them to be an offensive engine and really bring lots of value on offense when they're on the floor, which outweigh their defensive shortcomings (Pritchard, Ja, Dame, Trae, Haliburton, Brunson, Lamelo, Garland, Luka, Kyrie, Harden, Scoot, etc.

JD is the second type. He's still pretty young but I think at this point it's safe to say he'll never been an elite defender. The question is, can he at least be playable on D..and can he be good enough on offense to outweigh the defensive shortcomings?

I don't know. I'm not ready to write him off completely as an NBA player quite yet..but I do think at this point he's a long shot - at least in Boston..perhaps if he makes it, it'll be on a bad team like Utah, Washington, Brooklyn, etc. where he can get more playing time and have a bigger role.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Here's some three point shooting highlights from Scheierman. His release is quick and he can drain them from unusually far away.

On the G level he can rebound. His passing is there, like really good. Defense though... that part of the game will need lots of labor for him to become an NBAer.
