Jokic alone pretty much guarantees a playoff berth. But this team without Jokic...

Couldn't you say the same thing about the 23 Nuggets?

Over/under 1 year before Giannis asks out?

I highly doubt he's staying in Milwaukee.

Man speaking of lucky, how glad are Milwaukee and Philly to be playing in the Eastern Conference. Math would already be looking very scary for them out West

Is the PC board buying what the Cavs are selling? They look pretty good to me, granted I only watched the one game

They look pretty good. They're going to settle a little when their 3pt shooting normalizes and when some of their action inside the arc does as well, but they're a top-10 D, and they lead the league in 2pt FG%, so there's a long way down to go before they aren't an elite offense even with that normalization. They're crap on the O-boards and balls at drawing fouls, which augurs a little more poorly come the playoffs, but even still.

So we'll see, but even with a little variance, they should remain pretty good all year if they stay healthy. Might be a little more disappointing in the playoffs, but time will tell.

As was the absurd burying of Jokic for losing a close 7 game series. He's still the best player on the planet and there's not even a competition for that position.

Jokic stopped being the best player last year. Idk why that's being debated

It's not being debated, he is even more clearly the best than last year.

No he didn't.

He was the best player last season and is likely even better this season on current form.

I don't know. Anyone who watched saw his defense was really bad and alot of his assists are just letting someone take the ball from him. All I see from people who say he's the best are spreadsheets or saying "aha he's the best its so obvious" like the first guy who replied to me. He choked in the playoffs and Shai should have won MVP anyway.

I feel bad for Pel fans. Weren't the talking heads saying he'd be the best guy in the league?

Did you watch the playoffs? He didn't choke anything. He took the best defense in the league to 7 games despite his Jamal Murray laying a stinky egg all series. Despite MPJ failing to hit anything. Despite running into a Wolves team which trotted out SIX double-digit scorers. Jokic had more offensive rebounds than everyone else on his team combined except Aaron Gordon. And he had a 34/19/7 game in the elimination game. Murray actually scored well that one, but it wasn't enough.

It's faintly absurd to say that he choked last year.

Last night immediately goes in the pantheon of best single games I've ever seen

Draymond playing with game 7 intensity all game long, I went crazy when he blocked Gafford at the end

Steph playing like he's still a top 3 player in the league

Not telling anybody how to be a fan, but I think people who don't dedicate themselves to a single team are kinda cheating themselves out of moments like this. Granted moments like this are exceptionally rare - but tracking a team through highs and lows and getting really invested can lead to emotional resonances that can elevate certain games (like last night) to the level of capital-A Art. I know I'm being dramatic but this team means so much to me and I know I'm gonna remember the experience of watching last night's game for years to come

What do you use to determine how good a player out of curiosity?

Am I supposed to be hyped Jokic took a team he was expected to beat to 7? And that best defense missed the DPOY for one game and the Nuggets lost that game too.

Like, why are you even talking to me if you're going to ignore me. Don't you think Minny having six double-digit scorers has something to do with Jokic kind of sucking on defense? Like his stats are cool but he played alot worse than his stats tbh. That defense didn't work vs Luka even though Luka was pretty banged up.
