45-3-9-5-2 also going 4-8 from 3.

So far he has been more like a top 10 player than a true MVP candidate. The Chet injury takes away the SGA has a stacked team narrative this season.

Jokic clearly miles out in front of everybody though.

yup, great game

obviously the door is open now for SGA to put up alot of shots (and points) and play at a real MVP level, if they can keep winning perhaps he can make it a two man race

regardless of Jokic's god-mode, the other viable candidates can never stay healthy so it's really just SGA and Tatum

He's very good player who got 16 FTs. Jokic leaves every game bleeding. They aren't playing the same game.

I mean, that's his most significant NBA skill - getting to the line. it's like saying "Jokic just passes the ball around"

the "bleeding" part is immaterial as well, SGA is a perimeter player whose game is predicated on his speed, craftiness and jump-shot -he aims to avoid contact and get by his man. Jokic is a phsyical Center whose game is predicated on using his vision, skills and body to impose his will on opponents

SGA isn't a "very good player" he's a superstar. he's ultra efficient (I don't think we've ever seen a high volume scorer with such a low turnover rate) and is a real two way guard, as good as he is offensively he's also elite on the defensive end. he's a top 3 Guard in the league anyway you slice it and just entering his prime, his best years are still ahead of him

with that said, Jokic has clearly been better than him thus far this season

SGA is quickly becoming one of the most overrated defenders in the league.

Well, Wemby is coming for Jokic's annual MVP award as early as next year imo

Why because he had one good offensive game where he made his 3 pts. The guy is 7’4” why is he shooting 12 3 pointers. His overall shooting is abysmal. On the other side he is a great defensive player. The person who should worry is Rudy because I think Wemby is going after all of the defensive player of the year awards

Dude needs to learn how to play offense before we start worrying about that at all.

yeah, he started the season poorly offensively no1 is denying that. i'm betting he'll turn that around soon enough, he started his rookie season similarly and then just took off at some point, I expect much of the same

So are the Spurs winning 50 games next year and Wemby will be consistently great?

He is a lot worse off offensively than I thought he would be. Might take 2 more seasons or more.

At this point, he still seems a lot like taller Porzingis.

That was my offensive comp for him when he was a prospect. But he can score better inside because of his agility and coordination, it's just does he want to put in the effort and work to take hits down low to score on a consistent basis.

The crazy thing with Jokic is, he could easily lead the league in Rebounds, Assists, and Points. Maybe Wilt is the only other guy in the history of the league that you could say that.

And the thing is, you’re not supposed to be able to put up Wilt numbers in todays game.

People don't like to bring it up, but Wilt is the all time king of stat padding. He makes prime Westbrook and Embiid look like ethical bucket getters.
