Hopefully you guys can throw names of college players to look at for me.
JT Toppin and Kwame Evans are a couple of them.
Asa Newell too but I think he'll be gone in the top 15-20 picks..,
HENCE my idea of trading up..
I'm very high on Asa Newell. He'd be perfect for us.
-Combo PF/C
-Could play alongside Queta, since Newell can defend out on the perimeter and he can shoot it from 3 fairly well..also has some flashes of handling the ball, attacking closeouts.
-Boston likes bigs who are cerebral, have high feel, can playmake, be a passing hub. He checks that box
-He's a winner..was part of Montverde Academy team that went undefeated to win the HS national championship
-Can also catch lobs
If we traded 30 and 32 to move up high enough to get Newell, I'd be pumped. But realistically, I don't see it happening since Brad just has not done that type of move yet in his tenure as GM..he has preferred to trade out of the 1st round, and the only 1st round pick he took was at 30..he has not traded up and actually drafted someone higher than 30 yet..so it seems unlikely.
FWIW, Newell is currently ranked as my no. 11 overall prospect in this class. So I'm not getting my hopes up..
