I was gonna say, that sounds like complete horse sh*t. Is Towns' interior defense great? Not really, his rebounding is by far his biggest impact on D, but saying that 90% of shots against him at the rim are converting defies all logic

We are falling apart in the 4th...the minutes our 5 starters are playing are unsustainable

If you look around the league and check up on the best perimeter defenders none of them are asked to play the minutes we're asking of Hart, OG and Mikal. Like Dort doesn't play over 30mpg, and hasn't for 2 seasons, Brooks is at 32mpg, Jrue is 30mpg, Herb has played over 30mpg once in his career etc etc.

Asking defensive stoppers to play as much as Tom does leads to diminishing returns, it's why these guys minutes are kept in check, so they can be pitbulls for the time they're in there.

His rim protection hasn't been good, but if you just go to Nba.com you can see where he made the mistake, frequency is first at 32 then makes is 35. He got the two numbers mixed up.

Not sure where Tim got 90% but per NBA.com, it's 78%, which is still the worse amongst Centers.

KAT has been on a tear offensively lately. Big test for him tonight to see if he can outplay Embiid. I hope he doesn’t get into foul trouble.

To be fair, which bigs in the entire league can "outplay Embiid"?

So I don't see how it is realistic to expect KAT to do so. KAT will get his usual 22 PT 10 REB.

Joel will get his points because that's what a league MVP does. And the refs will ensure it.

However the Knicks have been letting role players drop career highs on them and bomb away from 3 in losses...and that is the test.

Can Wingstop lock down the perimeter and can we stop the rest of the team?

Can we keep the role players from going off and getting career highs?

I agree he may not be able to outplay Embiid. But if he can stay out of foul trouble and make Embiid take contested shots while putting up 20+ points himself I’ll be satisfied.
