I would think Lakers would have to register interest

What do you think that package might be? I see one good young player and a first really as the top value for Dame. I would think Franz, Banchero and Suggs are all off the table in a trade for Dame.
As a Bucks fan I'm 100% not expecting any of those folks from the ORL side. Folks like KCP (routed to a 3rd team), C.Anthony, Issac, C. Howard, A.Black would be folks I'd be interested in with some 1st round picks coming back too.

He's old as dirt, plays no defense, and is vastly overpaid. If we were foolish enough to go after Dame it would be to put him with Bam and Butler, not in place of Butler.
Isn't this common sense?
Wouldn't it be commons sense that Milwaukee, a team that wants to content, wouldn't trade Dame for Herro and/or Rozier as the centerpiece without significant compensation? Dame has been better than Butler this year and through their careers & is not expiring & is younger than Dame. If Miami wants him they'll have too give a good offer.
Wouldn't it be common sense that Miami, a team that wants to contend, wouldn't trade it's best playoff performer? There's no point to the trade without Jimmy. This is, at best, a lateral move. Dame is not the playoff performer that Butler is, and that contract isn't pretty. You think it's a positive that he's NOT expiring given his age and the money he's owed? I don't.
I didn't want Dame two years ago. Now you're telling me that we have to give up Jimmy for him? No thanks.
And it's Milwaukee that needs to shake things up, not Miami. We're a proven entity. At worst, we'll be a play-in team. Where's Milwaukee going? Not a shot at them, but they're the ones trying to figure it out. Let them go elsewhere if they don't want what we're offering. I don't think they'll find a lot of teams but they might find one. Good for them if they do, but Dame is looking like fools gold to me.
Pass.

Lillard is an amazing playoff performer. I get wanting to keep Butler (hence *if*), but there is very little reason for Milwaukee to do a deal otherwise, and if Miami doesn't want to put assets on the table then it should be very understandable while Milwaukee wouldn't proceed with a deal. Herro is fine, but there are so many guards who play bad to abysmal defense who can average something like 20-24ppg and 5apg on good percentages. Herro is - in my opinion - the best of that group, but if guys like Sexton and Simons would be available for a late first (I'd assume that is the cost to get those teams to easily move off of them) there is no reason to trade your second best player for Herro.
