I don't see the embarrassment here
ATL played physical and crashed the boards hard. Also caused many TO because of sloppy passing
They got to the paint at will
They bothered JT with their physicality

All these things are ailments of the past that we did not address

Our bigs are soft (finesse bigs), we are a good rebounding team but play poorly when other team's bigs crash the boards, JT is bothered when played physical and gets frustrated because of the refs (he played injured so...), no stopping of penetration to the paint, our scheme calls for guards to play bigs and ATL took advantage with Capela and Okongwu on our small guards etc
It is the defense and hustle. It happened last year and will happen again

Just weather it and hope we will be healthy for games 60-82 and the playoff

I also think that ATL are better off without Young. They are longer and stronger on defense and opposing teams can't hunt him

We lack a lot of depth on the bench.

Both games Cs lost because of failing to get the rebound.

The Cs scored when they needed to, so execution was not the main problem.

Against GSW, Looney's 2 offensive rebounds in the last 2 minutes of the game doomed the Cs.

In this game, the Cs forced the Hawks to miss, but they allowed Okongwu to tip-in the miss.

A healthy KP will really help in the rebounding department.

Al Horford is just not that guy, in the paint, anymore.

They scored when they needed to? They missed two critical shots with under a minute to play tonight.

Yeah, but it was a case of the Cs trading baskets in crunch time.

The Cs were leading by 1 point with 21 secs left and even forced the Hawks to miss with less than 10 secs left.

But the Cs failed to get the rebound.

It came down to one rebound and that decided the outcome.

2 losses on rebounds. GS won on two bricks that the Celtics didn't get the board and they got put backs.

What an awful performance. This team is hard to watch at the moment...

Shooting ridiculous amount of threes and lackadaisical defense every game...

We went back in time to the non clutch team / soft group on the boards. ATL clearly wanted it more and we settled for three after three when we had the lead under a minute. Live and die by the 3 = 0-1 in the Cup.

Well is Tatum even a good spot-up shooter at this point? Pull-ups are different, but I'd like to know the stats. He's streaky for sure

They deserved to lose, but I care about this loss because I want the team to advance in the Cup

Wasn't a fan of the live by the 3 die by the 3 philosophy, but they won a title with it, so there's that. This year though, they're taking it to another level.

I think it's complacency.

Cs won all the close games in the ECF and Finals.

I give Tatum a pass because of the ankle but that was a sad effort in the 4th. He should have pulled himself or Mazzulla should have. He was clearly laboring.

JB was incredible at times but the basic things like hitting fts seem like they will always be his bugaboo lol

Well, what is the true state of his ankle? If he's not okay Joe should sit his ass and the team would've played better.

If he's out there everyone (including teammates) will expect him to do his thing. That right there could be the main reason for the loss.

20/47 (42.6%) on catch and shoot threes this year. Well north of 40% like he is every year of his career, you know like streaky shooters do.

did we blow it up yet?

my only contribution is that Pritchard proved to be the most boring 'mic'd up' guy I've ever heard. Set a tone for the evening:)

Of course the defense would be better, but that was literally the most points Dyson Daniels ever scored in a game. The fact we scored over 110 points without Trae (and other key players) is an early Christmas miracle.

Dyson Daniels was amazing. If you told me he was the #1 overall pick I'd believe it (I know it's his 3rd year).

6 Turnovers by JB.
5 Turnovers by Tatum.
3 Turnovers by White
2 Turnovers by Holiday.
1 Turnover each by Horford, Hauser, Pritch & Queta.

Some of the passes were dumb.

Plenty of times one Celtic player establishes a position without the intent of MOVING TO THE BALL to RELIEVE THE PRESSURE ON THE TEAMMATE MAKING THE PASS AND CREATE A BETTER ANGLE. Lots of MENTAL MISTAKES. NOT THINKING. LAZY POSITIONING.

I'd have these guys run practices with NFL LINEBACKERS AND DEFENSIVE Backs pressuring them full court so they FINALLY MIGHT LEARN the CONCEPTS OF TRIANGULATION, MOVING TOWARD THE BALL, CREATING OUTLET PASSES THRU POSITIONING FOR TEAMMATES, ETC.

SOME OF THESE GUYS ARE DUMBER THAN YOU GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR BEING.

I think it will be a trend where these young teams get sup er amped up for the cup and to get their bonus. Older teams where guys have $300M in earnings won't do well in this cup environment.

The Atlanta Hawks played much harder than the Celtics and were more physical. The Celtics never adjusted.

I was with you for a bit but where can we find good linebackers and DBs? Not in NE.. except for Gonzalez and I think he's busy
The rest of NE's corners would just give the Celtics false confidence

As do most top heavy teams.

Once KP Come back they will have Horford, PP, Hauser Quenta/Kornet which is fine.
