Seriously. What happened to Podz? His face got broken. That's what happened to him.

This reminded me. One of my first interactions on RealGM many years ago was a guy who was trying to make the case that the Cavs should trade LeBron. Part of his rationale was that perhaps he was error prone. Because he had a broken nose.
...
you think the guy has a bum face? That'll just keep getting reinjured?

Onus wrote:I think the oddest thing about Podz is that he was supposed to be a shooter, but he doesn't want to shoot. That's my biggest complaint.

I don't know all of what he did with his summer but he 1. spent a ton of time playing and visiting with team USA overseas and other semi-social activities and 2. working on his body.
What I didn't hear about is him spending a ton of time doing offensive skills work and taking tons of shots. That's not to say he didn't, but the main thing I remember him saying about his offensive game is eliminating the hook shots(I was bummed to find out) and taking fewer floaters. He said he wanted to improve his jumper, both from 3 and in the midrange, but I don't think we've seen any improvement there.
Contrast that with Kuminga and Moody who both spent tons of time in the gym working on skills, according to all the footage we saw from them this summer. Both players look much more comfortable and aggressive hunting shots.
So my guess is that if Podz focuses heavily on his offensive bag of tricks this summer, we may see something much different next year.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. He’s taking pull ups and mid range jump shots this year. He’s clearly worked on his offensive game. He was talking about being the 2nd option and that he would take more shots this year because of all the departures. It hasn’t shown yet in most games but he did have a small spurt against Houston when it was needed.
