So I have to ask the group of unfaithful, ungrateful "fans" who said the "smart" move was to trade Steph Curry before the season what they think now? Do you still want to trade this guy?

I thought it was a permanent regression, but it probably is not the case. The question for me is whether he can be close to his 22 version. What I mean by 22 version is that it is not his peak version, but still good enough to be a top 2-3 player in the world. If he can play at that level in the playoffs, then the Warriors have a reasonable shot at winning the title. I hope they can find a way to find a trade to replace TJD as the starting center.
In addition to that, we need some crow eating from pro-Klay fans. Indeed, it is apparent now that the mess last year had a lot to do with him, and replacing his big ego by several legit rotation players played a massive role in the great start to the season.

No. Dumb is calling for Lauri to save us and willing to mortgage the entire future for the privilege. Dumb is saying this team is treadmilling because they couldn't trade for a Fin that enjoys losing 60 games per season because he has a pretty shot. Dumb is saying to move off Steph because "it's better to trade him and rebuild."
Just take the L on this one. We've all had bad takes, this is just one that was immediately proven to be ridiculous

CDM_Stats wrote:Unfaithful? Sure... Ungrateful? lol cmon now.. half of the reason was so Steph could potentially have another title run. I still have a ton of doubts about this team being able to be a legitimate contender, as while Kerr has been better this year, he's still leaving some big pockets of value on the table. But at least now its not unheard of to have legitimate optimism
That said, this kind of thread has some high bed-sh*tting potential if the team doesnt look like a contender later in the year. I mean its all hypothetical as Steph was never going to be dealt, but the 2 ideas behind it were doing right by Steph and going all-in for a title, especially since a lot of the assets they had to use via trade are no longer viable today (CP3, the hard cap, Kuminga sans-extension, etc)
Twinkie defense wrote:The only rationale I ever offered for trading Curry is if 1) the Warriors were rebuilding and not trying to go far in the playoffs, and 2) Curry didn't want to be a part of a rebuild. That rationale still stands - why waste his talents on a team that isn't going anywhere?

That dude's never going to admit he was wrong until the Warriors hoist the trophy. And even then he'll find some nonsense argument as to why his logic was right and so he was only wrong as a consequence of bad luck or some other BS. He's staked all his claims on Kerr or Kuminga or Podz(or whomever the target of his hate du jour is) not actually being good at their jobs no matter how successful the outcome is. He's the only guy on the board that is happy when the team does poorly and glum and irritated when the team does well. He's staked everything on being a contrarian no matter what the evidence shows, which is why he's so intolerable.
