Game 11, in which we fall further in love with the Tik-Tok-man, and get keel-hauled by a slept-on star.

Never has an organization deserved a start to the season more for simply not caring about the regular season whatsoever.

Just hope Morey doesn’t trade McCain in a deal for DFS at the trade deadline.

Man! D Mitchell put us to bed all by himself.

McCain with a smooth game. Even when he's chaos, he's under control. I see Curry, Brunson, Jamal Murray, and a dash of Steve Nash.

Yabu...Hey...I like the big bear. He's fearless and he gives us toughness we've been lacking.

I got nothing but love for Caleb Martin.

It'll come together, but never be fully operational. Not this year anyway.

Gotta hand it to the team. Coming off a very physical B2B game and then badly undermanned and they gave an 11-0 team everything it could handle.

Not sure if you missed the game, but McCain was great, Yabu showed tons of heart, C Martin looked like a top-notch role player, and even Reggie Jackson came in and carried things for a while. Not the game to be blasting Morey for, his offseason finishing touches just put on a helluva show with all of the big 3 out.

If I lean pessimistic, you have to question the legitimacy of our 'big three' of superstars, whether that's big game mettle, health or age.

Leaning optimistic and there are real signs here of a team that'll be tough to knock out of the playoffs.

Adding Embiid + Maxey + George to McCain, Caleb and Yabusele probably gives us our most versatile roster since 2019.

That's with a tonne of tradeable roster fodder and draft capital surplus to add another real piece.

Can Morey win along the margins without gutting our assets? I think we could go to an ECF this year.

If Jared McCain is this good at age 20 just 10 games into his rookie year, imagine how good he'll be by 23 or 24? He's exploding out of the gate quicker than even Maxey did.

Absolutely untouchable. Jalen Brunson (or better) upside.

How did you read that post and interpret it as me blasting Morey?

Hope you're wrong about that, because that would lead to less continuity as Nurse would have to be gone, and contrary to popular belief, I don't wish for him to be fired... I just always knew he was overrated.

He’ll be better than Maxey / a lot higher IQ and under control

The parallels between McCain and Maxey are eerie. Both 19 coming out. Both were supposed to go earlier, but slid because of one or two concerns (size & shooting Maxey)(size and lack of athleticism McCain). Both were drafted more for their value as a prospect earmarked for a midseason trade. Both got thrust into the lineup due to injuries and both ran with the opportunity.

The craziest part, both were passed over by the Miami Heat one pick before us.

Do we dare to dream lightning struck twice?

At some point guys have to start playing ball or we’re not even making play in

Maxey is a sub 8 TOV% player (very low for a ballhandling guard)
McCain seems to be in a similar range

Could be very interesting having those two play with Embiid and PG if that starting lineup ever happens. Fairly high level of confidence in all players on the court being able to get good looks. Need less Embiid ball this year for sure.

I think it's pretty clear already that lightning struck twice. The only thing that will keep McCain from producing is if the coach decides to limit his mins for some reason. When everyone is back he should still be playing at least 30 mpg.

Yessir, that's exactly how I'm seeing it. I think we'll put it together, but full health is going to be an elusive challenge all year.

team continues to carry and then have to play guys who shouldn't be in the NBA anymore

and then they tank a quick spurt of a game and its enough to cause us to lose.

Been happening forever it feels like lol

If the coach did limit the minutes that'd just continue the eeriness; b/c that was exactly what Doc did to Maxey after he flashed early.

McCain kind of already has the midrange game that Maxey lacks.
always a jump shot away.
