If I were them, I'd start Donte and split secondary creation between him and Reid. They both space the floor better than Randle and the ball moves freely, the fact there's such a large gap between Reid / Randle's net rating says a lot.

I dont understand why they didn't just move Randle for picks and roll with Naz. Just seems like they could have recouped some inexpensive assets while letting Naz flourish.

I guess they can take that risk since they have a high level starting PF on the cheap, if worse comes to worse they can just move Randle if need be. Most of their numbers are better with Reid, so only so long they can keep this up, the second Randle stops shooting 40% from three he becomes a liability on the floor and they have someone to replace him.

Just looks like trading at a loss. While stunting talent. Oh well they're problem

I understand that they were facing financial constraints, and they did have an embarrassment of riches in the frontcourt between Gobert, Naz, McDaniels and KAT. But like me going through the menu at a restaurant, it appears that they completely overthought it, and kind of lost the plot by letting go of the most talented player of that group.

Not to mention KAT's skill set enhanced Edwards's game, they had a good relationship off the court, and their timelines largely matched.

Randle's still a net positive overall despite his subpar defense, but he's an awful fit on Minnesota with Edwards and Gobert, and if their fans are already frustrated with him, just wait until his scoring efficiency comes back down to Earth.

i think it's still too early (like how it is with kat) to really know how it will play out. ant and randle have the most 20 pts+ for any duo in the league. ant was saying he loves playing off him. i haven't seen much timberwolves games but one of them i saw was against denver and they had a stretch where they were absolutely dominant. i think that's a promising sign for them. gobert and randle does feel weird though. he's not our problem anymore at least, so i wont have to defend him after those terrible wandle games he does sometimes  still rooting for his success though.

I wish him well too. I didn't like watching him play but he played a major role in the resurrection of our franchise and he got a bit of a bad rap here. He deserves a lot of credit for his contributions. It is too early to judge as you said, but this was just my prediction, if I had to guess. We'll see what happens.

This is factually untrue. Hoisting up more 3's was their game plan before the KAT trade. It's why ANT's shooting form looks different from last year. There was an emphasis on 3 point shooting. The Wolves main issues right now is Conley and with some fans comparing Finch to Thibs.

On top of gelling issues with Donte, they (were) trying to run him as a combo guard. So he's struggling to initiate offense, while getting his offense going.

No coach, no GM in their right mind will bench Randle for Reid over net rating.

The more I live the more I realize I have no unique experiences. Sorry to see you struggle witht this, too. It's truly terrible.

Thank you. It's a curse.

And yes agreed and I find it oddly comforting.

I would have loved to keep KAT but strangely, he and Ant did not really enhance each other on the court. They have low chemistry even though personally they seemed to have huge chemistry and love. I never understood it but they just never developed any on court two man game or flow.

I think we had a lot of meat on the bone we never accessed with Towns on the current wolves team. For whatever reason, we couldn't maximize him. It was hard with Rudy and Ant and the spacing but I still believe we could have figured out how to be a lot better. Again, Towns was playing at about 70 percent of his optimal self on offense since the Gobert trade. It was good enough for us to be a top team but we could have been a lot better.

My thoughts are the Randle and or Naz can bring close to the 70 percent of Towns for this current team. At least on offense, Towns' defense wont be replaced right now.

You know the Wolves far better than me but I never saw any special chemistry on the court between the two either. Just that Towns spaces the floor so in that respect he can help Edwards as a slasher. Perhaps a simplistic comment but I do think there is something to that.
