Clint and Nance are expiring - they are either walking or almost certainly signing deals that go beyond when Ayton expires (2026) - I could see them taking a middle ground and moving them for Ayton to shake things up while not committing to super long salary. Something like -

ATL OUT - Capella + Nance
ATL IN - Ayton + 2 OKC SRP

OKC OUT - Kenrich + 4 OKC SRP
OKC IN - Nance

PDX OUT - Ayton
PDX IN - Capella + Kenrich + 2 OKC SRP

I'm in.

Could also send Walker to ATL as they are sending 2 bigs out. Would be OK w/ 3 SRP to ATL and 1 to PDX too.

I get Blazers sending out Walker in a trade given he is not in the rotation, but I am still of the belief that he holds value to the team. I'd love to see Grant get moved, or Ayton get moved, and Walker getting some more minutes (Depending on who we get back). In the meantime, even though he is young, he seems pretty mature and his hustle I think is contagious, which I would hope is still the case as a bunny to chase in practice.

I mean he is out of the rotation on a bottom 5 team and is an impending FA. He has a great motor but isnt a rotation player in todays NBA.

As we are taking on Clint and Kenrich while only sending Ayton out - the inclusion of Walker would be a necessity to make the trade work roster wise.

I’m not opposing it. I just like hustle/rebound guys.

can't see how Nance is worth 4 2nds more than Williams. Feels like OKC is here just to overpay with the idea that they have so many picks it doesn't matter and Nance is a couple inches taller than Kenrich. But OKC seems just fine playing short. I can't see them adding the value the other fanbases want to make that deal.

I think ORL says yes to this, at least this ORL fan does.

For the moment Nance is healthy and Kenrich isn't and OKC could use a healthy big. Trough to justify more than 1 or 2 2nds for that though.

Of course Portland shouldn't need any incentive to turn Ayton into EC's. Maybe one 2nd if they're including Walker for roster spot matching. I'm not sure a huge amount of 2nds are swaying the deal for Atlanta either way. If they just don't want Ayton (and IMO they shouldn't but others may disagree) than no amount of 2nds are swaying them to take him. If they do want Ayton than they shouldn't be expecting much incentive.

Damn it's been 2 whole yrs and POR can STILL trying to unload Simons to ORL?

No. And I don't care he's from Altamonte Springs FL the answer is no. Our guard rotation is good!

I mean, haven’t there been just as many proposals from Orlando fans (or neutrals) over that time span sending Simons to Orlando?

The reason it’s been discussed repeatedly is because it makes some sense.

Not to mention the ORL fanbase on this board seems split. Its not like its a constant rehashing of a trade that is universally panned.

What the Cavs might want is another 4 or 5 who could play if Mobley or Allen get hurt. Duop Reath or Larry Nance Jr types.

The Cavs will spend money if they feel there's a window to win a championship, but who they'd go after depends on how things go, the matchups they anticipate in the playoffs, and how they care to approach them.

Pairing Okoro and Thybulle would be fun defensively, but with Bickerstaff out the door, the Cavs are no longer a defense first team.
