yeah we are getting lots of bickering and off-topic stuff related to the other teams for some reason when obviously this deal dies here.
Like we can talk about the risk of Porter's contract, but what we can't do is pretend that Grant Williams and Josh Green suddenly have a lot of value. One was traded at the deadline and one this summer at nowhere near the valuation itt.
full disclosure on my valuation:
Ayton- neutral
Porter - a bit negative
Thybulle - a bit positive
Nnaji - a bit negative
pretty much everyone else in this trade neutral
the protected swaps that might or might not amount to anything are the cost to moving Porter and Nnaji for bite sized pieces to build a quality bench, and acquire Thybulle. Hence why Portland is getting the swaps not Charlotte. I imagine one or more of these guys are moved for some spark plug offensive wing player. If I'm wrong on the willingness to move Porter for 3-4 decent role players, I can accept that.
Porter - a bit negative??????
He was a starting SF for championship winning team, the rest of players in this trade were at best 7th players in rotation like Grant Williams, or starting C for Suns they were desperate to get rid off.
if Denver wants to build some actual depth, what other options they have? Porter would have more value if he wasn't a walking back injury and on a max deal, but if Denver doesn't want to trade him and are happy with what they've got, then I understand.
