I wonder if this will be a tie in to the new arena...
I like these, the explanation of history and culture, and the su tle switch to making the powder blue the focal point from all the new colours.
Released in time for the play-in game tomorrow.
Now, gump, I can hear the groaning already lol but I like these!

I couldnt care less about the award but he is proving me wrong also. I never expected to see the old Harrison Barnes this year. Its still early but great job!

Yeah this was a given the moment the middle finger went up. Can't blame him as calls didn't go his way but bad timing to lose your cool with Wemby out. Didn't help himself or the team with the ejection.
Collins got called for at least three fouls quickly in each of the last two games. Fair to say that some of it is on him to do better. Control what you can.

Not sure if this is a bi-product of Pop not being around or what. I cant imagine he would have done that in front of him. I agree that he doesnt get calls but he totally didnt understand the situation that Wemby was out.
Its not a big deal because we will miss the playoffs anyway at this rate, but the coaching has been far from good. Even when Pop was there. The rotations and decisions we are making are more than head-scratching.
Now we got players flipping off refs. That is unheard of here since Dennis Rodman LOL

Yeah the overall vibe of taking plays, Qs, halves, or games off because of oh well Wemby's not there to bail us out and Pop's not on the bench to rein us in is setting in.
Guys have said what a positive guy Mitch is but I'm not sure what kind of discipline there is getting instilled.
Agree this would never happen in front of Pop. I thought maybe Mitch could have advocated more for Collins. Maybe he did and I missed it and Collins gave the finger anyway.
As for coaching this is one aspect of Pop's absence that is affected. Another is the bizarro rotations. Like Mamu and Blake definitely have played well enough to get more minutes yet there's a weird rotation of DNPs even when we could use them as others struggle.
It's one thing for Pop to be in touch and give input and another to be there. Our guys need some tough love as a bit of built in excuse-itis is setting in before tip off.
It's also glaringly clear we need a back up C upgrade. We need a bull back up big with some bounce. Nothing fancy just a hulk rim protector and crushing screen setter. I'll take fundamentals bread and butter plays within his lane type who is defensively sound.
Even when Wemby does not play, we have shown to be capable of better than these couple of games but we've unraveled a bit.
Can't wait for Pop to come back and reset the tone.

Any player in this league who can block a shot for Champaigne. Im all in!!!!
I would even settle for an Andre Drummond if it meant getting Champaigne out of here

Collins is at 5/3 33.3% from 3, also very good FTs (high 80s percentage) lower volume, 14mpg and it's costing us $16.7M! That's fourth highest on the team! And he now plays below the rim as there's no lift in his ankles.
There's couldn't be a more glaring opposite direction/value for money trajectory.
Meanwhile Drummond is at 10/5 in 17mpg on a $10M for 2 years contract. Four years older than Collins. I mean this is better production at better value (no idea of his D now, haven't seen him play) but no 3s or good FTs so pick your poison.
Much of what's happening to Collins is I think mental. Push to justify contract, balance between toughness and protecting ankles. He's definitely not as fast or bouncy as he was. But also frustration is mounting both from himself and from fans with his play, especially on D.
He's mentioned he would like to play alongside Wemby and I wonder whether having these two bigs could prove fruitful with Collins at the 4 or whether he's too slow for modern 4s. We're messing around with lineups and rotations. May as well give it a try. Wemby gravity is such that others get better shots and D protection. We have to try to make that Collins contract more palatable to get value back.
My sense is it was a good faith one with the hopes of his growing into it and we could flip him for other needs/assets. After all, it was his steady play that made us comfortable trading Jacob for very good value. That pattern was projecting to continue with Collins but it was riskier given his injury history which has come up again to affect his play so we do now have to figure out ways to find more optimal situations for him. Feels like he's stuck mentally and in a smaller team role but growing as the resident whipping boy and that's not fair to him or the team.

JC would have to be Bryn+ levels bad for me to accept a downgrade to AD! Come on JC IS serviceable! 12/5 36% from 3 over 90% FTs on higher volume in 29mpg for only $3M. Four years younger than Collins.

I was just joking about Drummond. I was just saying the risks I would go to to move Champaigne
You were asking about a rim protector which Collins isnt. I dont mind Collins at all but he is definitely not the same player he was before the injury. Maybe he still isnt 100%? I also think he is falling into the mindset of turning the ball over and taking bad shots because our coaching staff just lets everything slide. There is definitely no accountability on this team like we were promised, even when Pop is there.
Maybe he is pressing because Bassey is threatening his minutes? I have to hand it to Bassey. He looked God awful in the pre-season but he has been great lately. We really cant put him in Collins role though. He is perfect getting 10-20 minutes tops at night. If you play him more you will surely get a lot less. That is just the kind of player he is. A spark plug. Too many minutes for him = BAD and losses. Just like Champaigne.
Not sure what big rim protectors are available or could be.
