I'd rather have Norm than Mitch. I'd honestly rather have a lot of other trade targets than Mitch with this roster.
I'm not too interested in a KAT/Mitch pairing tbh. Our team would just become super slow (and we're already a very slow team) and I don't foresee Mitch having any role offensively with KAT around because:
A) KAT should be the one setting screens so we lose Mitch's lob threat and Brunson's not a great lob thrower anyway
B) If you stick Mitch in the dunker's spot, then his hands are terrible and his finishing has diminshed as his lower leg injuries have piled up. He really can only dunk the ball uncontested. He's also a pretty useless passer. Also, obviously his FT shooting is woeful. When thinking of the Knicks offense and how potent it could be, it's an easy cop out for teams to just foul Mitch and live with the 1 point per possession he'll likely provide.
Mitch to me is useless on this roster unless you're using him for 10-20 minutes a night as a backup 5 but that's a rather large salary chunk to use on a backup IMO. I'd rather see Precious in that role.
If you don't view him as a bench piece, then whose place is he taking in the SL? It has to be Hart right? Is Mitch better at basketball than Hart? IMO no... Does he provide more additive bonuses to that lineup than Hart does? IMO no.... He might stabilize the regular season defense more but, in the playoffs against a team like Boston or Indiana we'll get run off the floor playing KAT and Mitch together for long stretches so it's pointless to me and the Knicks are already a decent to good rebounding team without him.
I’m with you, this is from another thread, hoping that Achiuwa can anchor the defense to a degree and have Robinson to get Towns some rest. I would trade Robinson without thinking twice, but with the apron and considering his favorable descending contract, I’m not sure that happens.spree2kawhi wrote:Towns / Robinson

Brunson / Payne
Where’s the problem?
Precious for Hart is exactly what I’d like to see 10-20 games of. Addresses our two starting lineup weaknesses (defense and rebounding) while boosting our bench tremendously with Hart, Deuce and even Payne providing production and energy. It makes too much sense.

People love to call out Towns for his defense and crap all over him but Luka is so much worse. He should get at least half the rips people jump to throw at Towns.

One man had equal production to the other doing "cardio" for a deciding game 6 playoff game. Tik tok for the win!

I'd rather have eltie offensive rebounding and interior defense that Mitch provides over more scoring. This team is already tops in scoring.
And Mitch has great hands ....we just have had crappy lob passers since RJ left.
It’s not even that I wouldn’t want to play him. If he plays, he’s serviceable. His minutes are invaluable and I don’t want to give them to a player who might miss action again starting in April. Towns is best at center though and Achiuwa should hopefully complement him well. Nothing is set in stone, and we should just have a look at all options.

prob with tik tok is it spews disinformation - tobias also grabbed a few boards and had a couple of assist. not really equal, eh.
he is also giving 13/7/3 this year. what's mitch doing - posting 2 vids a week?

That's how he would have looked for us coming off the bench, just for reference last year he came off the bench in 18 games, he averaged 7.9ppg 2.7rpg and 1.7apg on 38% from the field and 38% from three in those games.
If they want the Donte we had they have to start him and play him 30+mpg.

With all teams from last year’s conference finals other than Boston looking just as bad as us, I think it’s fair to say we’re going to have a good season.

On defense, Towns is a disaster at center. That's why Minny traded for Gobert. Mitch is more than serviclable when healthy he's absolutely vital if this team wants to call itself a contender.
