Nope, I'm just a regular donor. My dad was pretty sick early this year and needed multiple blood transfusions that kept him from dying. I decided to pay it forward by donating myself, and ended up understanding just how critical blood donation is. So now I donate every time I'm eligible.
I figure if i can convince just one other person to donate, that's 3 other people who can be saved at a time of need, so it's worth it.
It's not bad really, the only part that sucks is that they have to prick your thumb during pre screening each time, and for some reason that hurts like hell, but the regular donation process is pretty simple and painless. I usually dick around on my phone while it's happening and you're done before you know it.
Plus they give you chips and drink afterwards

If anyone wants to make blood donation more fun, buy a bottle of MD 20/20 to drink after. Works great when you are a pint of blood short.
