I see several good flashes on McCain but he was treated like a bust just 2 weeks ago and now all of sudden we have to keep him as a foundational piece.

Look, small sample sizes are tricky.

Still he has several of the things this team lacks, most importantly: he's a great distributor and playmaker. But his offense, even with the good footwork he has, is gonna be dependent on his 3 point % and he's shooting Curry numbers on this streak, that's going to go down eventually ( and if not, throw the bag at him already lol)

The only way he doesn't pan out as a star is if he is a complete chair on defense. Seems good enough so far and that's mostly from effort.

Otherwise, he's elite on offense already.

We need to run all these complex sets for Embiid because he doesn’t move much on offense. Without them, teams can easily zone up on him. However, running these intricate plays becomes challenging when you’re playing with new teammates who aren’t yet familiar with each other.

It would be a lot simpler running an offense with a wing or a guard, then have a center just rolling to the rim collapsing the defense
