Biggest tank win of the season. Going into the game, Pistons were projected 4th last on ESPN's model and we were 3rd last, with them favored to win 4 more games than us.

We're gonna be decent when Barnes and Quickley return. Battle was a -27 tonight and Shead is getting absolutely cooked out there every night (was a short-lived love affair for our fanbase I fear). So I really think we need every loss we can grab before we're playing at a 35 win pace and basically an East Play-in team. Starting 2-11 and Barnes not being back yet means we can play at a 35 win pace for the last 60 games or so and it won't matter, we'll still be around 29-30 wins and presumably in the 3-5 draft slot range (it would have been around 7th last year, but that was an aberration and the worst teams like Portland, Spurs and Pistons were so young they've improved by inertia alone).

2029 champs, I reckon.

Quickley is gonna be out for a while, probably not returning before 2025.

Scottie will probably miss a few more games.

Ace had a good game but I’m not that impressed yet. Cooper still looks way better.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

5th pick in this draft still means you're getting someone like edgecombe, which would be insane lol.

Quickley being out is probably enough. Everyone good except Denver and Houston has a decent lead guard, and we don't have Jokic or Houston's defence and allergy to committing turnover that is keeping them good.

3-15 in this stretch (so 1-3 if he's back in 4 games) without Scottie
10-14 with Scottie but no IQ
18-22 with Scottie and IQ over the final 40 games and still finish the season with 31 wins, the 5th draft slot or so and feeling like we'll be a scrappy .500 ballclub next year if healthy and hopefully a 45 type win team the year after if our rookie in this strong draft is a solid starter by his 2nd year.

We might not even need to move Poeltl at this rate to tank, and I kinda doubt there will be a team willing to make it worthwhile at the deadline.

Demin looks like the kind of guy who can run an offense nicely too if he's got shooting around him. I haven't seen much of Harper (and he seems like a tough evaluation), but things seem promising even if we don't get Flagg, but can snag a pick around 5, yeah.

What i'm trully loving about the East this year thus far is outside Was (we know the 76ers will win some) every team that was our tanking comp is mid not horrible...juuuust good enough.

If we get a top 5, I actually believe we'll be a 45W team by next season, we'll have one of the biggest swings in recent memory.

This team is missing it's 2 best players, 2 vet bench players (particurily a backup C like Kelly) AND their top pick this year yet. The only game I really think we were bound to lose was against the hottest team in the league, CLE. But I think fully healthy & no last minute tanking/stealth bad play calling, we could've quite easily had 8-9Ws which would have us in 3rd right now.

Obviously a fully healthy ORL & PHI would change things a bit too but I think we're SO MUCH better than our record suggests. Fully healthy I think we're better than CHI, ATL, CHA & DET at minimum. Add a top 5 and I honestly believe we'll move into a similar space as IND, MIA etc. Add to that, that our FO will also look to sign different/more useful vets and/or trades, I'm far from a homer but I really believe we'd be a .500 team EASILY and I think we'd actually be slightly better. Once whoever we draft hopefully in the top 5 hits their 3rd year and the game slows down, that's when we'll start our real ascension into contending.

BTW, as of tonight Raps have a -7.7 point differential, better than any other bottom 5 team. It's actually tied with the 5 and 8 Blazers.

Honestly wouldn’t be all that excited if we end up with VJ. Given our roster makeup, he’d face an uphill battle getting developmental minutes with shooting around him. I already don’t see Ja’kobe playing much this year when he’s back
