Re: #14 - Pistons-Raptors - 7pm ET
A win is a win. We are 2 months ahead of last years pace and 1 win away from half as many as all of last season.
I realize it isn’t pretty at times and there is a lot of work to do but it’s fun watching Pistons basketball again.

Even in a win this man can't stop complaining about Cade. Thread, after thread.DetroitSho wrote:I'd like to see a brain study on Cade of what his brain is doing in the last 6 minutes of basketball games. It has to be like a hamster on a wheel or carnival music or something.

Re: #14 - Pistons-Raptors - 7pm ET
We're so close to being 7-7 right now instead of 6-8 that Milwaukee game still stings a bit for sure. That said, it certainly is enjoyable to watch the Pistons again most nights we're really competing defensively. Our offense has decent spurts but also goes cold at times and the TOs are frustrating at times as well.
On the road at Washington next and then Chicago at home on a back-to-back it would be great to get both of those to actually be 8-8 and at .500 16 games into the season.

Bro shut up, PERIOD. Don't get me confused with Rip32, that guy is unreasonably ridiculous. He's my favorite guy on the team, I just hold Cade to a high standard. Some things he does is unacceptable and there's no excuse for it.zeebneeb wrote:Even in a win this man can't stop complaining about Cade. Game ball to Moore for incredible defensive intensity, surprising amount of defense, and saving Cade from that potentially killer turnover at the end of the game.
Man, we need to just have the guys do free throw drills or something. Gotta clean up the pressure free throws.
Really miss THJ and Tech right now. The spacing on this team is pretty solid when everyone's healthy. But down those two guys and with Ivey and Cade having an off night, it gets pretty rough. Holland has a nice driving game, but he bricked about 6 corner threes tonight.
Love the physical play and the defensive intensity. Bickerstaff has them all the way bought in on defense and it's great. Fun team so far this year. 6-8!

Ugly win, but I'll take it. Cade and Ivey's shooting percentages look disgusting, they gotta start playing better

This was the first non late season game where the Pistons had more talent than the other team in like 5 years.

I think there's two statements here:
"it's got to be incredibly rare for us to win a game" -- recent Pistons history says that's true
"it's got to be incredibly rare to win a game without scoring 100 points" -- recent NBA history says that's true
I'm glad we pulled out the win. I can confirm that the Pistons didn't sputter as hard as Netflix for the Tyson fight.

Did a quick check and the Pistons were actually 1-10 last year when scoring under 100.
In 22-23 they were 0-14
So they are 2-27 in the past 2 & 1/6th seasons when you factor in they are 1-3 now this season after last nights win. But as you said, we have a really low winning percentage anyways so being 2-27 when we don't score at least 100 is not that surprising.

Agreed. We've seen him play better. We know he is capable. Nobody wants to get rid of him. We just want him to make better decisions. It's been a problem for awhile. It's fixable. So it's a valid target of frustration.

That's all I'm saying bro. It's the idiots that harp on his lack of quickness and explosiveness and whatever physical tools he can't control. Matter of fact, he shot terribly yesterday, and I never said a thing about that because it's a part of the game and sometimes you have off shooting nights.Invictus88 wrote:DetroitSho wrote:Bro shut up, PERIOD. BUT constant BRAINLESS turnovers when you're supposed to be the brains of the team really limits your team's ability to close out games. On many occasions he causes moving screens for Duren due to not being patient and letting him set.
When you hit a big shot with just over 3 minutes left and you look up and see you have a 9 point lead, that's supposed to be money in the bank as far as winning that game. This team ROUTINELY gives up those types of leads and has us sweating at the end when it's not supposed to go that way. And it's all led by Cade and rubs off on the rest of them. BB agrees as well as Sasser did some late game ball handling even with Cade on the court.

Holding a player responsible, whomever that player may be, is absolutely fine, but there are indeed excuses for his play at times. (Not all mind you)DetroitSho wrote:Bro shut up, PERIOD. Re: #14 - Pistons-Raptors - 7pm ET
Didn't see the game but just looking at the box score, the Pistons (and Cade specifically) had a hell of a time trying to close out a game. Thank god for the vets because the young guys are struggling in 4th quarters in particular.
With that said, can't complain about 6-8 considering that the Pistons season was effectively over the last 3 seasons by Game 14 so it's progress.

Well, EAD and do like I do, pick your spots to post if it's a chore. This place BEEN a cesspool and me pointing out inexcusable things our LEADER does that gets in the way of us winning consistently doesn't add to the mess. I'm barely here. Check your own post history and try to convince me you wouldn't wanna punch ya own ass in the face.zeebneeb wrote:Holding a player responsible, whomever that player may be, is absolutely fine, but there are indeed excuses for his play at times.
