Hukporti needs to get more minutes. He’s big and plays hard. Two things our roster desperately needs. Remember - Hartenstein was more size and hustle than anything else.
Also, Pacome should get 5-10 minutes per game to take some pressure off the starters.
More importantly, Mikal Bridges finally looked like the guy we traded for tonight.

Re: PG: Knicks -Nets 11-15-24
Sims is OK to eat some minutes but is an offense liability. Huk actually looks to score when open and had a nice feed to Mikal. Definitely more potential from Huk, he’s earning those backup minutes. Will be interesting to see what we do when Mitch is back but it could be KAT at the 4 with Hart off the bench and Huk as backup center.

We are getting a lot of bad breaks, not playing all that well, have some injuries.... Yet still .500 with some good net ratings. This team has a lot of room to get better. Need everyone back and hopefully Thibs can figure out ways to unlock this roster.

The Cup takes away from the gravity of the Finals. It's the stupidest ever by the NBA - damaging its flagship product for short-term views in the regular season and an artificial trophy.
Soccer cups are meaningful because they incorporate teams from lower domestic leagues that would otherwise have no opportunity to play the big players. So it's a different pool of participants. To organize a Cup with the exact same teams, with wins still counting for league results, is devoid of meaning. It's just fiddling with the schedule and somehow putting a trophy in the end to pretend it matters.
And by saying it matters, they're communicating the NBA Finals isn't the end-all-be-all it has always been. And while they all congratulated themselves over the uptick in ratings for the Cup last year (novelty effect), the NBA generated even less interest in the Finals last year. The 2024 Finals was the least watched Finals in the last 50 years, outside of the COVID years.
Their short-sightedness is unbelievable.
I hope the Knicks never win this stupid Cup because James Dolan isn't above throwing a parade for this, and it will be the most anticlimactic thing you can imagine.
There's talk that the NBA could eventually allow euro league teams to play in the cup.

Sounds like you don't like basketball, add even more games, a round 100 would be great.
I want to see the Hornets have to play Panthiakos in this kind of atmosphere and LaMelo get hit with a flare.

That should absolutely be our starting lineup. I think we’d be so much better imo. And Josh hart would be a great energizer off our terrible bench.

Re: PG: Knicks -Nets 11-15-24
Not surprised that the game was competitive, the Nets have been scrappy this year but 4th quarter collapses are never fun. Always prefer a competitive game that ends in a win than a blow out collapse hold on game.
Glad Mikal is starting to show signs of life cuz I was a little nervous with how bad he’s been. The Starters with deuce or Payne instead of him are 21 points better. Guess I assumed since Brunson, Donte, and hart all had instant chemistry that the same thing would happen with Mikal but that hasn’t happened yet but it’s trending in the right direction.
We’re still in the experimentation phase of the season but Thibs rotations have been a little frustrating. Running 6 man rotation one game than playing 3 rookies on the floor at the same time in another. When you see Dadiet and Hukporti on the floor compared to Matt Ryan and Sims, it’s like night and day. At least playing sims makes a little sense to me. He’s been in thibs system for years and in theory has chemistry with everyone else already but playing Matt Ryan over dadiet is a waste of everyone’s time. At least shamet had been a decent role player at one point but Ryan been a fringe nba player his whole career. He hasn’t had any time to practice with the team either. It’s not like he’s gonna have a future here but Dadiet might! Give him those 10 minutes instead.

Jokes aside I would love to see competitive cross-continental games in principle, but I think the format would need to be completely overhauled.

Re: PG: Knicks -Nets 11-15-24
Morning thoughts.
1. Fourth quarter meltdowns need to be addressed. Cannot be up 19 and lose the lead at home. Thibs needs to fix this cause it's happening way too much.
2. Captain Clutch was great again. 16 in the 4th! Basically told the haters here to EAD!
3. The Imortal Hukster is a fun player to watch! Fingers crossed he's earned Thibs trust cause he's way more impactful than Sims.
4. Happy for Mikal getting the block and playing well against his former team but he disappears too much. He needs to be more assertive.
5. OG has become a go to scorer. He can average 20.
6. Payne is a Greg Anthony clone. Which is good and bad. He'll make a timely shot or steal but he can shoot you out of games too.
7. Cam Thomas is like the Michael Beasley of SGs. Kid can scorer in his sleep.
8. Sad when a mod and site admin also troll Brunson in game threads. I despise fans who trash the best player but this isn't new. We had fans who trashed Ewing and Melo the same way. It's one thing to criticize but they go overboard. Brunson is averaging 25 and 7 on 48/38 and you'd think he's Ben Simmons reading these idiots.

I think KAT and Huk would make up for their flaws as well. Like Huk looks like a better rim defender while KAT is a superior rebounder.

He's playing like a borderline all-star power forward, filling up the stat sheet and shooting at a high efficiency. He is the prototype 4 for the modern game.
I think he'd be even better as a 3.

Just start the Incredible Huk.
Hart, Deuce, Precious, Payne would be a solid bench.
