If you are an Australian and Hoops fan (of which I am one of), you would be truly astonished a network and website like Aunty (the ABC) would have picked up on such an remarkable stat.

Do defensive monsters with mediocre offensive stats make All Star Games?

Unfortunately not… unless they’re a big. It’s kinda dumb IMO.

Offensive efficiency can range from game to game but, usually, defensive intensity does not for these type of guys. The only flowers these guys get are all-defense teams.

Derrick White and a couple of other defensive guards are ahead of him in the ASG pecking order.

His time will come eventually no doubt

**** that. They should be rewarding the best players in the current season. Not based on veteran status or legacy.

Guys a beast.

Can't believe Pels just let him go for Murray...

Im pretty sure the 2 1st round picks were set in stone on the trade. Then it went from us wanting Herb Jones as the player coming back from what was reported. Them instead wanting to give us Ingram instead of herb. Neither side was budging on that and then they settled in the middle for Dyson Daniels, Larry Nance, Liddel, and Zeller.

I honestly think the Hawks might have ended up with a better fit to trae than even Herb would have been for the hawks. Nance has surprisingly been solid as well. He has been like a Solomon Hill for us when Trae needed that old school style vet to be tough around the young guys.

One could argue the Pelicans were 'Herbed' in that trade lol

Feel genuinely bad for their long suffering fans though.

I've been following Dyson since he was about 14, he's from my town, this doesn't surprise me, he's always been a great defender

New nickname I've heard "the Bendigo bandit"

Too bad he plays for a mediocre Hawks team surrounded by trash defenders.

Can't you say the same thing about Herb Jones on the Pelicans?

Bandit...... well there is your nickname right there. Dingo or Dundee would also work.

He's a better version of what I wanted Dante Exum to become, but Dante was derailed by injuries.

Incredible player but not DPOY material. I don't think anyone is going to win it going forward with Wemby in the running.

Does he not warrant DPOY on your scale or what you think the voters will reward?

I understand that the voters nearly always go for a big and Rim protectors (Marcus Smart the recent exception - which was a terrible pick IMO). But what he is doing, if continued, should certainly see him garner votes and be in the conversation fro DPOY.

Obviously against Wemby, it's going to be nearly impossible to win a DPOY if he plays the minimum games each season, but he should at least be in consideration.

Oh yes he is.

He's averaging 3.8 st/g. No one has ever done that for a season.

The only player to average as many as 3.7 st/g in a season won DPOY (Alvin Robertson 1985-86).
