Re: Raps Deported! Victory Cigar vs TOR 11/16
Having watched the replay of the Tatum buzzer beater for the zillionth time one thing that made me happy and observed was JT didn't go around celebrating like a headless chook (like someone like Jimmy Butler and many other stars would)
His body language actually suggested a lot of relief/and a massive burden has been taken off his shoulders
Always enjoyed the fact that Tatum is a more humble/more introverted type of champion player, not a show pony who likes to ham it up after a big play.. he is a quality kid JT.

Was happy they put Queta and Walsh in positions to perform. Giddy they set Queta up as option B to get that 3pt shot attempt. Walsh was also fed and liked that he attacked with a dribble drive on one occasion.

All this experience should help Queta in the long run. He played well and has impressed me this season. We may not have gone to OT had he dunked that late regulation putback he tried a little hook shot on. No one between you and the basket and you're that tall, you have to slam it home. He'll now know for next time, hopefully.

As much as I love that game winner it was a terrible shot and he will probably never stop taking them going forward at the end of games now.

If you look at the replay, it was not a terrible shot because it was not forced.
JT created enough separation to turn a forced shot into a contested 3pt attempt.
Maybe not a high percentage shot, but no way was it a terrible shot.

Nice win.
VC to Tatum and Brown. Al also played well.
Tatum with a clutch game winner. Still a bad slot selection. Tie game, don't settle for 3s but I will take it. Hopefully this shot gives him more confidence going forward on becoming more clutch. That shot at the end of regulation was just a bad miss.

JT had to improvise because the play they were supposed to run was blown up when JB fell down.

JB was actually pushed, that's why he fell. Tatum still had about 5 seconds to drive after Brown on the ground and take a better shot or get fouled. Game was tied. Glad the 3 went in.

He hit them before and still tried to go to jb there, I’m glad he hit it because the play was blown up (FOUL)! He had to shoot that, you act like he had time and another option there. It’s not as if he dribbled forever for that look, JB was ran over, he got the shot he had time for.
The people y’all imagine hit all the game winners, it’s just not based on facts! Most of the shots were terrible and the FEW they made were mostly LUCKY! Some ugly lucky BS shots! Continue to remember the good ones that they hit, I’m sure years from now people will remember Tatum’s the same way.
Tatum has some clutch buckets with his go to shot, but most time tans are going to force you into a crap shot because they know who it’s going to and/or where teams are trying to get. I don’t know any superstar who has hit any number of game winners, where all of them came from where they wanted to take them! If y'all think Pierce always got to where he wanted to and drained all the game winners, please show me the proof. The numbers on everybody are TRASH!!
Kobe, LBJ, MJ and more shot a horrible percentage on game winners! Why do y'all expect Tatum to be better than them? That’s unrealistic expectations.
I promise, I’ll be happy to change my mind if the numbers prove me wrong. Let’s see them. It’s been a while, but I know the numbers will show Pierce or any other superstar were not nearly as great as you remember! They weren’t shooting lights out or anywhere close, but a lot of people make it seem like Tatum is shooting game winners like a rando off the street. They all STUNK, but we all remember the ones they hit. If you think Tatum is that bad at it, show all of us how bad it is in relation to all the other greats.

It’s year 3 of getting them up, increasing yearly, it’s time to accept they are going to keep doing it. If Joe is the coach they might shoot 70 a game next season. It is what it is. I just heard the stat from Arenas nem, no team is shooting less than 31 a game this season and the average is 37. We shoot 51, IIRC.

A shot doesn't need to be forced in order for it to be a bad shot. A low percentage shot to me is a bad shot. Especially when you have plenty of time to get a better one. Would you be okay with him taking that shot as our last shot every time? That should tell you if it's a bad shot or not. We are all shocked he made it. Let's not kid ourselves.

Re: Raps Deported! Victory Cigar vs TOR 11/16
Listen, people need to remember we are a .500 type team when 2 of our top 5 players are out. Holiday and KP are 2 of our top 5 players. When we one of our top 5 missing, we are really really good. When all 5 of our top 5 (Brown, White, Jrue, KP and Tatum) play, we are on a different level. We will need all 5 against teams like the Cavs.
I have nothing bad to say about this team. We are coming off a title. Let's remember that and be grateful. Tatum, Brown, White and Pritchard are improving. That's saying something for Tatum and Brown because both were already really, really good. As was White.
KP being out has given Queta a shot and he is getting the minutes and making the best of them.

Most game winners are bad shots. If they weren’t people would probably be shooting a higher percentage than the horrible numbers we have proof of. I looked a few more times, and I agree it wasn’t a bad shot, just wasn’t the BEST shot. Yes, there were 5 seconds but there was also good defense by Abaji(?) to impede him. This isn’t a video game.
S/N: I would feel the same even if he missed it. Just bummed we would be going to another OT.

Guess it's a difference in opinion.
If the Cs were down a point or 2 points, I don't want that kind of shot.
But since it was a tie game, what's important is there will be no time left if JT made or missed the shot.
This is not the first time JT won a game with a 3 as time expired.
So I'm not as shocked as you are.
Also, JT has been shooting a decent % with a shot like that.
Even in this game JT made a couple of shots like that early in the game.
Reason why I'm not so critical with a shot like that is because I've learned to accept the fact that a shot like that is a part of JT's bag.
No matter what fans say, we will see more shots like that from here on out.
