This is the most fairy tale start to the season for tanking, literally losing close games, showcasing tradeable talent and securing the worst record with every game.

Lottery gods better not **** us.

Going to be a tough battle at the bottom.

Key dates: March 7th to 14th, we play Utah and Washington 2 times each. Our future is in our own hands.

you never know with morey lol but nah, just lots of injuries to start out and their roster not being very good outside of their big 3. though they have had mccain make some noise lately. they'll rise back up at some point. it's the wiz/jazz that will probably be our main comp

Nah...just injuries.

Plus their pick is onluly protected 1-6. Too risky to try and tank for them while wasting another year of Embiid, Maxey and now PG

Man, it still pisses me off how a Nick Nurse led team is so close to us in the standings even with their injuries. We could've maintained a top 5 spot in Wemby's draft if the front office didn't trade for Poeltl to help the team overachieve to a .500 record (with Nurse pushing our starters to 40 minutes a lot) just to lose in the play-in to the Bulls.

Somehow in the same sims Pels climbing up to get both #1 & #2 picks came up twice as did 6ers getting #1 thrice :x

THE FIX IS IN SCREW YOU NBA

Yeah it is weird with the number 1 pick odds ....Even in the real NBA Lottery since they switched the odds the Number 1 pick odds tends to get screwed more often than not....Pistons had top pick odds for a couple years and only got it once in 2021....Ended up moving down to 5 most the times....

Only good thing about being 1 is you can't go lower than 5....But it seems a team in the 5-8 spots jump up more than not and take a spot in the top...Lets just hope we are the team that don't lose their spots in the top 3

This is why I'm hoping we can get some more wins. Falling to fifth after the season we've been having would just be disappointing, no matter how deep this draft supposedly is. I just want to see us win the lottery.

ya the last time the worst record was rewarded the #1 pick was in 2018, and the draft odds were changed in 2019

but at the same time you could say that the worst record is due for the #1 pick since it's been so long.

Ended up with a top 5 talent anyway. Had no impact.

If they want to be in the flag sweepstakes they may have to part ways with Poetl whose keeping it way too close out there

IIRC a couple of pointless wins made the Raps draft Ross instead of Lillard several years back, can’t repeat the same mistakes , every game counts !

Keep revving up the tank

The Jazz or Pelicans need Poeltl. Masai, do your thing and pull another McDaniels, Bargnani, or Vasquez trade.

A higher draft position would've allowed us to pick him or someone else earlier (or even luck out with Wemby), but in hindsight, Dick did luckily drop to us considering his 2nd year improvements thus far.

My issue is still Poeltl since he has a player option after next year. Will we sell high or will we keep him for the remainder of his contract and maybe look to extend him further? Without a competent C, we'd have a top 5 pick last year and be in range for someone like Sarr/Clingan/Edey without worrying about losing the pick thanks to the Poeltl trade, but again, that's all hindsight.
