voted for our two All-NBA forwards

Cs are getting everyone's best shot -- you can *feel* how much these games mean to these scrubs they are playing -- and the Cs themselves are playing like it's preseason. Wake them when it's April.

Tatum hitting that GW is cool but on the other hand the side of me that wants him to do ANYTHING ELSE with last shot opportunities was not jumping up and down celebrating:)

Slow mo is 20/20.

That's not what everybody saw in real time, including the refs.

Dude

Video is implying JT travelled.

Refs didn't call it.

Those who don't care about the NBA Cup won't have to worry about the Cup if the Cs lose to the Cavs.

VC/CP:

JT with 20 potential assists and JB with 14. Man, this was what I was crying about 5 years ago. We're finally here! The Jays are passing the ball and trusting their teammates. Neither hit 20 FGAs for the game.

That might be a career high for JT. 20 is what Jokic averages for the season lol. So I don't think it's a big ask for our stars to occasionally do this as they're the ones who have the ball more often.

Jakob vs the Cs (from what I saw on video):

Queta: 5/7
Horford: 5/5, 1/2 FTs
Kornet: 4/4
Brown: 1/1
Tatum 2/2 FTs, 1/1

That was wild. Let's not do that again. Mobley and Allen next.

Still don't now how it happens, but the Celtics had a negative net rating in the win. -0.8 in a 3-pt win.

The 126.8 defensive rating by the Celtics in this game is by far our worst against any opponent this season. 8th worst in the Joe Mazzulla era (so it's not like it's never happened before).

That was ugly, they need to do better defensively, and kudos to Poetl, but giving up PITP is by design.

Design is sound, execution was really poor.

We'll know more about the design and execution against Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.

After the game Joe was asked about the points in the paint. He deducted Poeltl's 36 points saying most were floaters and he'll live with them
I think this is crap. Talented bigs with one good ball handler in the P&R will destroy this defense. We need to be better

A huge test is coming with the Cavs offense and I hope we won't get destroyed

Hopefuily it's just an early season defensive philosophy where they use a general approach regardless of who they're playing -- no threes, no easy layups (they did poorly here esp in transition), not much fouling, live with midrangers/non-restricted paint points. Then they can morph into more opponent/player-specific coverage once we near the postseason. I think with the Raptors you can help off certain guys and help in the paint. We didn't do that. We mostly stayed with shooters (I think we limited them to about 30 3PAs vs. our 61 -- that's a win on its own no matter how you slice it).

I'm not super worried yet. There will be growing pains integrating Queta and playing more Kornet instead of Porzingis.

Not putting all of it on bigs btw. Our guards/wings are getting blown by on the ball and getting caught ball watching/back cut on the regular. Our 3-ball heavy offense is keeping us from losing more games tbh. At this point last season, we were 3rd in defense. We're currently 11th. Too small of a sample still though. These rankings change on the daily. One game where you limit opponent to 90 points, and you can move up 3 or 4 spots.

According to Noa Dalzell that was a good defensive play by Brown?!

Brown was the one who blocked that. Drew Carter said Queta when the play happened, but it was Brown. Queta got the rebound.

I thought it was Brown at first too. But it was Queta. You can see it here in slomo from a different angle at about 3:15. The other angle is just before that.

Huh. Well the internet thinks it was Brown so good for him I guess lol. Thnx for the correction!

JB did hit that big 3 toward the end. I tried to find a highlight but didn't come across one before I had to post last night.

Blocks are often combined efforts. Often that's in the form of one defender impeding the driver's straight line, creating time for a second defender (help or trailing as the case may be) to block.

In this case Jaylen's block threat in the air altered the shot, allowing Queta to actually block it.

Yah, they showed a closeup replay of the backboard during the game, and it was clearly Queta who swatted it.

It really doesn’t matter, both players were where they were supposed to be and played great D

It all worked out but how does the refs ignore that Mitchell chuck on Jaylen Brown the last play in OT
