2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

We gotta start winning some games asap. The worst record in the league is cursed and will never win the lottery. Need to be in that 3rd-5th worst record range

The worst record only has 14% chance of getting the #1 pick...it's actually very unlikely......the main benefit of the worst record is that you are guaranteed a top 5 pick.

Ideally we’re still bottom 3 to maintain 14%

We won't be the worst team in the league unless we continue having injury issues. In the playoffs if you're a contender you rush guys back and in tanking season you do the opposite and hold them off.

Poeltl injury would be an easy way to continue losing games, not to wish injury on him, but it's unlikely he's going to play 82 games. Or you just trade him if a good offer is on the table.

The problem is that if we hold him out of games for minor injuries he could just play through he'll be considered "injury prone" which hurts his trade stock. We should be looking to trade him in mid December to late January. Our schedule gets a lot easier post trade deadline and plugging that hole with Olynyk looks like it would be the best way to continue rebuilding and focusing on development. Poeltl has been great but I'd rather see Ochai, Shead, Dick, and our other prospects, who aren't on the injury list, push forward.

This is working out beautifully for the tank. By the time Scottie and IQ come back, we'll be too deep in a hole to make a meaningful play in run.

I'm more than fine with a top 4 pick.

This is what I've been saying. The hole will be way too deep. I've seen people mention this mythical soft schedule we have later on and I just don't see it. February looks brutal.

Unless they are referring to March? By then they will be so far down the standings that there is no way they are fielding a full team.

The Blazers need to slow down. That second sits at #41 right now.

It stems from an (IMO) extremely reasonable thought that Masai will push for wins for no reason, as he has in the past. There have been multiple times over the past few years when we should've taken a step back instead of pushed forward for meaningless wins, and people are still traumatized by it, and rightfully so.

Most people know what should be done, but lack the trust in the FO to actually do it.

I think they will stay the course. My 2 conspiracy theories that are absolutely ridiculous, illogical, and can never be proven (or disproven lol):

- Masai started out the year tanking, or let's say "not caring about wins" to save himself from himself. If they were 3 games back in this putrid East at the deadline, he may not be able to help himself and make a "win now" move.

- The injury to Kelly is not even remotely as severe as they are making it out to be. Dude is living his best life on the bench, all smiles and bopping along to the in-arena music (we've seen this multiple times). I'm expecting, any day now, for him to bust out the air guitar. None of this means he's not injured, but like I said....it's a ridiculous notion that nobody will talk me out of.

The first one would be hilariously sad if true

The latter is somewhat plausible, who knows if the convo when he got signed was specifically to eat up roster space, be a good vet and help teach, while enjoying a free paycheck. I dont doubt the injuries are being stretched out further than they need to be at this point.

I just hope that Masai stays the course, cause this team desperately needs a high draft pick.
