They are almost polar opposites profile wise while being very good young talents, so it's an interesting one. Where Holmgren excels Şengün is questionable, where Şengün excels Holmgren is questionable.
Chet has the higher upside overall and is easier to fit into teams. Elite rim protection and switchability with outside shooting combo is massively valuable. If you add some shot creation and passing ability on top it, and Chet has shown potential in that regard, you're going to be enormously impactful.
With Alperen, I think the offensive upside is clearly higher, especially if he can add a consistent outside shot to keep defenses honest. His defense is showing a lot of improvement this season, he's becoming more of a rim protector and separating himself in that sense from other players of the same archetype in Jokic and Sabonis.
It comes down to who your other players are, honestly. If I'm starting from scratch, I'm taking Chet, injury concerns not withstanding. It's not a "not even close" case though.
